On tap at DDC. Hazy copper pour, smallish head. Lots of rice on the aroma, rice cakes, green tea, buckwheat, roastiness. The roastiness comes out strong in the taste, fresh tea, herbal (feels quite hoppy). Medium body with medium-low carbonation. Very good experiment.

My Bottom Line :
Earthy green tea, spicy buckwheat and bready yeast converge in this very interesting quaffer.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy head of foam covers the cloudy amber.
-The green tea character is also milky at times.
-The mouthfeel is cushiony; not sweet, but still ample and fluffy.
-This drinks like a Japanese alternative to Bitter. As drinkable as it is creative!
-Complexity is not an issue here. This is a simple and soft pint which you can easily forget about if the conversation (or your book) is good enough.
-This too, like many DDC creations, has lots of potential in food pairing.
On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a ruby tinged brown amber with a medium sized beige head. Toast, light tea notes. Hop bitterness and sweet green tea. Spicy tea, light sweetness. Toasty malt and lingering green tea tannins. Very interesting and quite tasty. Glad I got this one in my first group as it kicked about a half hour later.

Deep amber cloudy pour. Spicy yeast nose with a bit of rye like spiciness. Bready palate and a lingering yeasty/spicy nose. Chewy and a little bit earthy as well. The tea just adds a touch of herbal/grassy flavour on the back. Pretty unique.

An interesting brew at the brewpub. Tea eye? What does this name mean? Anyway, pours a orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is mostly rich grains some sweet fruit. The flavor has distinct tea notes, sweet, grainy. The tea adds a floral component. Interesting.

Pours a cloudy orangey golden color with a thick, frothy, white head. Aroma of buckwheat and green tea. Flavor of buckwheat and green tea. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. I like tea in a beer, but this beer is just so-so.
