Paienne is a top-fermenting June straw blond coloured beer. It presents aromas of malt, fruits and hops. Its well-balanced flavours are dominated by malty and fresh cereals tastes, completed by a delicate bitterness. All of this makes the Paienne an inviting and thirst-quenching beer offering at the same time satisfying tastes and a generous body.

341ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with a one finger white head. On the nose, light straw, light grapefruit, light lemon zest, and apparent wheat. Taste wise, citrusy lemon peel, light yeast, and mineral heavy bitterness that leads into malty Euro-Pilsner like notes with more lemon zest, and light black pepper. Golden ales are one of my least favourite styles, but this is a solid, easy drinking beer all around. Thumbs up, and a "well done!"

Poured a slightly hazy golden/orangey colour. Average size head, and gave way to a very thin layer with good lacing. Aromas are of grainy malts and some mild spices. Nice flavours, not too offensive. Some fruity elements, a bit sweet, some bitterness. Pretty good mouthfeel with some tartiness on the palate. This is probably one of my least favourite DdC brews, but would still take this over any macro brew-poo.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel, Montreal. A hazy, golden beer topped by a small, white head. Nice lacing. Grass, a generic fruityness and pale malts in the aroma. It’s dry. medium bodied, soft and with an ok bitterness in the mouth. Pale malts, fruityness and grass in the flavor. Rather short finish. A quite boring beer, but it slakes the thirst very well and goes down easily. 150612

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, floral, hint of grain and yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with an average malty, floral and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle 341ml, a slightly cloudy golden beer with huge head and good retention. Nose is malty with honey touch, aroma is malty, toasted grain notes, grassy bitterness, earthy notes, apple notes, bot bad but bit simple from this excellent brewery. Easy drinkable, finish is on dry grain, light toasted caramel finish with good duration.

New England Bucket List Trip #146. Keg at St. Jerome. Pours a clear golden with a large frothy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grainy malts, floral hops, dry citrus. The taste is tropical, stone fruit, caramel, bread, spice. Medium bodied, well balanced.
