COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Paienne is a top-fermenting June straw blond coloured beer. It presents aromas of malt, fruits and hops. Its well-balanced flavours are dominated by malty and fresh cereals tastes, completed by a delicate bitterness. All of this makes the Paienne an inviting and thirst-quenching beer offering at the same time satisfying tastes and a generous body.

Strong spicy flavorful scent. Small but thick head. Clean, goes down very easy. Little aftertaste after a robust pallat. Goes down too easy, easiest beer I have drank.

Bottle - I’m surprised this is rated so low - it’s quite nice - clear light gold, with a small, foamy lace - aroma of honey, wildflowers, grain - crisp and bitter flavor up front, followed by hints of buttered toast, honey, roasted grain - gets bitter again in the finish, but lingering bready character keeps it from getting astringent - still remains crisp throughout - a tasty blond ale.

Bottled@Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Slightly hazy golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is muscot (nuts), lot of nectar and fruits along with some caramel malts. Flavour is fruits, nectar, some nuttyness as well as some strange herbal notes. Very pleasantly balanced brew.

Legerement malter et fruiter. Parfaite. Une des rares ale blonde que je pourrais reboire et reboire. A bit malty and fruity. Perfect blond ale that I could drink again and again!

I have to disagree with Oakes on this one. I found this to be a clean, smooth, and refreshing blonde ale. A great session beer.

Tap at the Brewpub: Pours a hazy light golden with a dense white film of head. The aroma has a dry, bready pale malt presence, some honeyish sweet notes and fresh yeast in the background. Very frothy full feel on the palate. Crisp flavor that has a light pale malt presence, a touch of honey, though it remains dry and crackery- soft phenolics are underneath the overall profile which gives way to a smooth transition to a light flowery bitterness in the finish. A solid beer (Why are ratings so low?) Based on this, as well as other beers under this style, I’m beginning to believe that many users need a tutorial on Golden/Blonde Ale rating.
