COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Paienne is a top-fermenting June straw blond coloured beer. It presents aromas of malt, fruits and hops. Its well-balanced flavours are dominated by malty and fresh cereals tastes, completed by a delicate bitterness. All of this makes the Paienne an inviting and thirst-quenching beer offering at the same time satisfying tastes and a generous body.

Pale blond body with a limited cap that reduced to a sad film that sadly spins around the top of the beer. Grass clippings with hints of orange possible lemon in the aroma with big bready notes on deep inhales. Taste is crisp and clean, just a slight lemon hop lingers in the after taste. Grassy malts with orangy to a lemon citrus hop. I taste flavours..... I mean flowers. Goes down fast and forgettable.

Tap at brewery. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma has corn, lemon, honey, light butter... Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Lemon, light floral soap, honeycomb, orange pith, light caramel. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy golden color with some powerful activity. Creamy white 2 finger head lasting around 15 minutes with some strong legs. Aromas and flavors of fruits, grains, citrus, honey, floral and herbal spices. Great balanced taste of sweet honey, apple, orange with a dash of sharp lemon. Pleasant floral smell and biscuity feel. Slick medium body with perfect carbonation. Balanced finish of moderate length ending with some strong bitter herbal spices giving a saazy grassy feel on the tongue. Overall : Very good craft; inviting smell and a good balanced taste with crispy freshness. The only flaw I see is the long and strong spicy finish for a blonde making this beer a little less accessible.

Had this a few times and I can’t figure out why. First had on 3.29.14. Smell is old malt and some floral. Flavor is moldy earth and stale beer. Meh.

From a bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with a thick white head. Bready nose. Flavors of toast. Crisp, clean finish.

341ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with a one finger white head. On the nose, light straw, light grapefruit, light lemon zest, and apparent wheat. Taste wise, citrusy lemon peel, light yeast, and mineral heavy bitterness that leads into malty Euro-Pilsner like notes with more lemon zest, and light black pepper. Golden ales are one of my least favourite styles, but this is a solid, easy drinking beer all around. Thumbs up, and a "well done!"

Poured a slightly hazy golden/orangey colour. Average size head, and gave way to a very thin layer with good lacing. Aromas are of grainy malts and some mild spices. Nice flavours, not too offensive. Some fruity elements, a bit sweet, some bitterness. Pretty good mouthfeel with some tartiness on the palate. This is probably one of my least favourite DdC brews, but would still take this over any macro brew-poo.
