COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

Pours a thick black body with a thin tan head. Coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla, and nuts. Very good.

341ml bottle served around 8 degrees in a snifter: Pours like motor oil, pitch black robe topped by a finger of copper head showing nice lacing. Retention is low and the head fades to an uneven porous layer. The nose is fresh and addictive with espresso, roasted coffee beans and burnt toasts. On the tongue, you get the same torrefied blends found in the nose with sweet notes of cocoa. An intense bitterness then wraps the tongue and sets the pace for a super long finish. This Imperial Stout feels extremely dense and robust and shows and oily body. This is an awesome dessert brew to pair with black forest chocolate cake or anything sweet and daring. You could well let this one spend 2 or 3 years in the cellar to let it mature.

Flaska hamnmästaren - mörk med beigt skum. Tydliga kaffetoner dock lite tunn i kroppen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose is mostly roast and dark fruit with a little coffee. Taste is coffee and more coffee. Some spiciness. Coffee lasts way into the aftertaste. Great.

Poured from a 341 ml bottle into shaker glass. Pours deep black with a thin coffee-coloured head. Aroma of coffee, darker chocolate/cocoa, and alcohol. Taste of coffee, roasted and chocolate malts and a hint of vanilla. Very well balanced and does not taste overly of alcohol.

Great Job, Dieu Du Ciel.

Pours near-black, near-opaque with very small tan head. Huge aroma of roasted coffee beans, with a little dark chocolate, vanilla and some alcohol. Lots of coffee in the taste too, along with molasses, vanilla and cocoa. Very smooth and full bodied. Hides the 9.5% ABV pretty well. Excellent.

Pitch black with a ring of coffee foam. Strong coffee, little roasted malt, vanilla with a little dark chocolate presence. A little bitter from the coffee infusion, dry finish. Creamy, oily texture with a average carbonation, long bitter finish. Not a wow, probably too high expectation
