COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

This one may have suffered from the hype. A very good brew, a bit to fizzy for my tastes. It’s all about the coffee in this one. Alcohol is fairly evident for 9.5%. Doesnt hold a candle to the ’02 Speedway.

Negro intenso, espuma beige. Aromas de cafe, cacao, cereal. Cuerpo denso, inicio dulce de cacao con final de amargor acafetado. Excelente.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of coffee with a bit of chocolate. Pours black with tan head. The first taste is intensely bitter but seems smoother after a few sips. Full bodied, with slick texture, and a bitter finish. Definitely a sipping beer that goes well with deserts.

Well rounded and perfectly balanced. Coffee expresso nose. Malted expresso in mouth. Full, full body. Long aftertaste of coffee and cocoa. No sugar, no bitternes. Great!

Rich and deep coffee beans character, roasted malt, touch of vanilla, clean finish. Simply an amazing coffee brew, THE coffee brew, so hypnotizing that it is said to have psychedelic side-effects @o@

0,341 l bottle. Very dark with brown head. Strong and rich aroma: excellent coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roasty. Powerful taste: black coffee, dark chocolate, roasty, nuts, smoke, with old cognac, well balance. Great beer!

Aroma is heavy, roasted malts, coffee... a lot of coffee actually. When you taste it the journey begins, coffee (again), roasted malts, chocolate bitterness and dust. It´s very dry in the texture. Superb!

On tap at dieu de ciel. A body that’s completely opaque with effervasense and a grey sludge like sediment coating the sides which eventually dissipated. Creamy tan head that’s very thick. Aromas of bakers chocolate, fig, earth, alcohol and vanilla. Body is creamy, oily and heavy.

341 ml bottle from Birra+. Very dark brown, but looks black in the glass, with a big, creamy and persistent beige head. Subtle and slightly more on the sweet side aroma, big milk chocolate notes, obviously coffee, but less intense than I though. Vanilla beans, a hint of licorice and just a tiny smoky presence as well. Pleasent rooty and earhy bitterness upfront, proper espresso coffee taste, light astringency which work well making it a tad more dry and drinkable. Little warming sensation. Rich and forever lasting aftertaste, roasted and malty. Soft to average carbonation, medium to full body, oily texture. Really solid.

Nice Impy Stout. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, tobacco, and bread. Taste is similar, dark roasted malts, coffee, slight bitterness, and bready yeast. Medium to full mouthful. Taste lingers on the palate, nice winter warmer. Enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Black. Sweet fresh espresso on nose, soft roasty, dark fruity, soft sweet. Med bodied, pretty nice considering the high abv. Flavourful, intensive. Dark roasty coffee, sweet malty. Black berry fruity. Real nice coffee-RIS. Bitters enough to leave a clean finish. Nice flavour. Quite alright.
