COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black IPA. Again, an american invention. This style was born at the "Vermont pub and brewery" around 1997. It could be said that this beer tries to be an hybrid between a regular IPA and a porter. The Pénombre presents a light body and well expressed tofferaction tastes. The whole is however dominated by an evident bitterness, which stays always in balance with the other tates found in the beer. In the after taste, the bitterness and hops flavours are growing slowly dut surely, sip after sip.

Tap @ CBC. Deep brown color with a massive thick tan head. The nose is spicy chili chocolate, some roasted malts. Wood and grassy hops. Hints of cinnamon and general spices. The taste is smokey chocolate milk shake. Thick. Accents of pepper. Light lactose and yeast. Full bodied, viscous and lightly prickly. Overall, a nice black IPA from a brewery I had been looking forward to trying.
