3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours black with a one finger, off-white head that thins. A good amount of lacing.
Smell roasted. Hints of coffee, chocolate, caramel.
Taste opens with lots of roasted malts. Subtle coffee and chocolate as well. Finish is quite hoppy with a slightly bitter after taste.
Light to medium body. Slightly creamy texture. Low to medium carbonation.
Interesting and delicious. A very nice Black IPA!

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle had on 3.30.14.
See-through dark pour. Smell and aroma are similar - not much to it. Some black tea in flavor. A little earthy. Not much going on here.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Caramel, coffee, pine, citrus, chocolate. This beer is lacking the hops that I would expect from an IPA. Maybe I got an old bottle. More porter like.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at La Palette in Toronto. Bottled 05/13 - really?!?! Black with a smallish creamy white head. The nose is very roasty with a delicate resiny hoppy note. Tastes really-really roasty, it’s more like a porter or a stout, the, sweetness, and the black bread crust and faint sourness cover any hints of hoppiness. The palate is dryish, carbonation medium active, and the body medium. So where’s the IPA?

11.5 oz single bottle from Mile High Wine & Spirits. Roasty, dark and hoppy with a lingering dry finish. A solid Black IPA all the way.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cerveja escura, olfato e paladar intenso, com aftertaste duradouro, mas não é dos meus estilos preferidos. Dispersou um pouco da minha experiencia com IPAs

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.5 ounce bottle. Very dark with amber highlights. A big beige head leaves some lace. Not a big aroma but some cinnamon and light fruit. The flavor is much more aggressive. Big citrus hops that bring a good grapefruit puckering bitterness. Some sulfur. Rich malts and what seems to be a common yeast for this brewery.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Another from my brother-in-law. Clear ruby brown with a finger of tan head. Smells of soft toasted malts, molasses, light yeasts and in the background hops. Tastes creamy sweet toasted malts with a hoppy bitterness. Smooth on the palate. Solid brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a solid black with a short tan head and lacing. It has a strong resin and dark malt aroma, with a dark malt and toast flavor up front and a bitter, hoppy finish over a heavy-medium body.
