COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Première Communion is the little sister of and an introduction to the Scotch Ale. With less alcohol and somewhat thinner than a Scotch Ale, it nevertheless has the same flavours, but in lesser intensity.

My first beer at the Montreal beer Valhalla. Slight caramel aroma. Good lace, deep reddish amber. Caramel malt focus, very slight roast note, balancing bitterness. No hop flavors. Nice.

Nearly opaque brown with a lightly opaque light foam head. Aromas and tastes of toasty, rich malt. Finishes absolutely balanced, neither sweet nor dry yet both - a killer session Scot!

Tap at brewpub. Very tasty 3,9% abv ale. I didn’t have many beers of that style but the rich malty flavors, with just distant and loveable sweeter notes, are really surprising. The delicate and delightful floral and peppery hopping seemed very refined. Ouf... Them... Again. God!

Lots of malt in the aroma, big notes of caramel, and sweet malt. Flavour is the same, lots of malt, but well balanced, and not over powering. Excellent for the style.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep amber with a nice beige head. Aroma is a bit buttery, diacetyl, yeasty, nice caramel malt aroma, nutty and hints of roast and earth. Flavor is sweet smooth, modest buttery character, caramel malts, toasty, nutty, fruity- figs, raisin, etc- turns dry toasty, and nutty in the end with hints of herbs and earth. Pretty nice.

Une belle pinte sur place. Belle bière brune, mousse durable et épaisse, le goût de malt est agréable et prédominant avec un super goût de fumée et de chocolat, une des meilleures scottish ale bu si non la meilleure.

On tap at DdC when Andy, Max, Pearl and I took a roadtrip to Montreal and then Vermont. Pours a lightly hazed ruby brown with a thin to medium sized beige head. Soft toast, sweet malt, and light roast. Sweet, caramel and malt. Toast, sweet and smooth. Smooth toast, long soft bitterness and a bit more sweetness on the finish.

En fût à la brasserie de mtl, robe brune aux reflets rubis, arôme de caramel écossais légèrement torréfié, d’ailleurs les arômes et le goût sont identiques!

On tap @ the Brewpub. Aroma of candied malt, caramel, ruby, sporting a small toffee tam. Flavour is mild malt, caramel and toffee. Light bodied, very well balanced, creamy smooth, mildly sweet. Great!
