3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
341ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with a slightly off-white, one finger head that thins to a film. Some medium lacing.
Aroma is slightly sweet with notes of yeast, spices, dark fruits, caramel, and hops.
Taste is a touch bitter but balanced will. Has a moderately long, mildly bitter, aftertaste.
Medium carbonation. Low-medium body.
An interesting beer. Taste is a bit different than the smell would lead on. Worth picking up and trying out. Would probably grab a bottle or two next time I’m in Montreal.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a light copper with a medium slightly tinted head with good retention and lacing. Nose is of slight nuts and toasted malt. Taste is of caramel, bread, nuts and not really sweet. Bitterness is medium-high and last for a medium duration. Body is light to medium and carbonation moderate. Pretty good, actually.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear, deep copper robe with a moderate amount of macro carbonation topped by two fingers of an off-white frothy head. Retention is pretty good and the lacing capability of the beer is quite nice. The nose is rich roasted malts and toasted nuts paired with a grassy hop foundation. On the tongue, the brew is fluid, roasted, grassy and vapory. The finish is agreable and drops slowly but lasts a while too long. Pretty decent product overall, cheers!

Cobre limpio, espuma color crema uniforme. Aromas de tabaco, naranja, herbal y ligeramente pino. Cuerpo medio y textura maltosa, inicio suave, azúcar moreno y final muy seco que recuerda al pino y la resina. Tabaco en el regusto. Buena.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Received in a trade from Dresden -- Bottle poured into a Kölsch glass. A coppery brilliantly clear beer with thick, white foam that leaves nice lacing. Smells caramelized and a hint of woodiness, bittering hops also detected. Flavor is earthy, wood, caramel and an odd bitter/soap. Drinks very well. With the exception of the hint of soap flavor this is the best alt I’ve every had.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 341ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a copper red color forming a big creamy, thin bubbled and soapy head. Good retention and tons of soapy lingering lacings left in the glass
S: Roasted malts and caramel, mainly. A little bit metallic. Light notes of bread and flowery hops
T: Sweet upfront. Caramel, caramel, malts, sweet grains, bread and roasted grains. Light metallic notes. Medium and nice hops bitterness in the end. Quite good bittersweet balance
M: Light body. Watery. Medium carbonation and a delicious caramel and malts aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Great Altbier. Dieu Du Ciel! quality
