One of many bottles bought at Le Gobelet. Yummy - poured a beautiful deep copper into a glass stein, with a 2cm head. Hoppy over a solid bready malt backbone. Very drinkable, very tasty - great beer to drink with grilled meats.

Half pint on tap at the brewpub. The aroma is a bit doughy with a light metallic character. Good biscuity sweetness is also there. Really nice. Mildly hazy dark amber body with a medium cream-colored head and great lacing. Wow - starts creamy, spicy, herbal, and metallic. Great malty character in the middle with a biscuity and doughy pils and vienna maltiness. Full-bodied. Finishes with a nice, herbal, nutty, hop kick. A fantastic altbier!

Appearance: dark brown, slightly transparent, no visible carbonation. Frothy beige head. Aroma: Very heavily of chocolate and nuts. Best chocolate smell I’ve had from a beer, actually. Palate: smooth, creamy, nice finish. Taste: quite sweet, not bitter, very savoury, hints of saltiness. Lots of chocolate, nuts, caramel. Subtle hints of coffee. This is the best altbier I’ve had yet.

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, cph.
Pours muddy, deep orange-brown, lovely, staying, frothy off-white head. Aroma is powerfully grassy, deep toasted caramel, light floral. Highish carbonation, lovely dry mouthfeel. Flavour is top-notch, dry, bitter, toasted, milky chocolate. Super-lovely, dry mothfeel. Great.

Bottle 341 from King&Godfree. Well balanced beer, with very fresh aroma. The nose has lychees, caramel, apricot, and hints of toast. Taste has a sweet start, with bitterness taking over for a long finish. Palate is velvety and medium bodied. Amber, with a consistent frothy head.

(bottle) pours beautiful clear dark red with brown hints and a creamy, sand-colored head. The aroma is malty up front with tones of dark, grainy bread, cookies and caramelized brown sugar. Light fruity undertones. Spicy, herbal and woodsy hops in the background. Just a lovely nose. Quite creamy. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic. Robust, bready, caramelly and cookie-like malt alongside spicy and woodsy hops. The mouthfeel is creamy and round with a light to medium carbonation. Toffee and noble bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied. Wow, just wow...
