COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As black as ebony, this is the ancestor of the stout. Wiser, the roasted flavours are in harmony with the malt and caramel tastes. The distinct presence of the hops units all of these wonderful elements.

Draft at the source in Montreal. Smells heavenly of roasted coffee, brownie, burnt dark malt. Taste isn’t as potent as aroma, but follows closely. Tasty stuff that’d I’d highly recommend.

Sample from Dave at bar, pours brownish black. Chalk, roast, and nuts were the most discerning notes to this brew. Mouthfeel is soft silk. Really nice.

Draft at Dieu du ciel with Linh, Minh and Angela. Pours a deep brown body with thick off white lacing. Aroma is dry and roasty. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of bitter chocolate, super dry roast and light hop. Very nice roasty Porter.

A really nice porter, which I tried back to back with the stout (Dessee nocturne) and preferred this a little. Dark, but sweeter than the stout. Nicely balanced.

On tap at DDC. Pours dark chestnut with a creamy, one finger, off white head that laces well. Smell is slightly bland. Taste has hints of coffee with a nice, mellow finish. Medium body, low carbonation.A nice, porter. Drinkable, but tasty.

Corps mince vers moyen, une bonne dose de chocolate malt ou brown malt, de la noix de coco sur la langue, bonne amertume torréfié.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Massive head, one half inch is retained, and I did not pour it myself. Coffee aroma. I liked that it was understated coffee taste with a significant hopping. Perfect lace, very drinkable.

Draft. Dark pour with tan head. Aroma is roasted with chocolate and caramel tones. Flavor is of caramel, toffee and chocolate malts, but roasted tones are dominating taste.
