COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong brown ale inspired by the beer brewed by Belgian Trappist monks. Very little bitterness, this beer has intense malty and sweet flavours, mixed with the taste of chocolate and caramel. It presents complex red fruit and spice flavours due to the type of yeast that is used during the brewing process. This beer is at its best only after it has aged for six months. The Rigor Mortis are complex beers designed and brewed with patience and care in the tradition of the great Belgian Abbey beers.

Rigor Mortis Abt is brewed only once a year, and is sold in April until stocks last.

Dark brown poor with a pleasant frothy white head. Aroma of ripe dark fruits slight spice. Flavour is the same but more so.  Boozy with a pleasant after burn.  Has a slight molasses after taste. As it warms up there is a faint flavour of chocolate.  The beverage also becomes really nicely mellow.

From 341 ml bottle. Pour is chestnut brown with a thin head. Chocolate and plum in the nose. Fresh brown bread. Smells like a fruity mousse au chocolat. Dried fruits hit the tongue with the first sip. Chocolate notes are still there. A lot of esthers in the aftertaste with a long bitter, boozy, chocolaty finish. Great mouthfeel!

The aroma is malt - caramel, a little raisin. The color is a cloudy reddish brown, the head is off white and fully diminishing, good lacing. The taste is bitter a little sour. Pretty good.

Mustszínű italunk az apátsági belgák nyomdokain haladva kívánja saját felfogásban interpretálni, milyennek is kell lennie egy vérbeli abtnak. Illatok tekintetében maradéktalanul sikerül felidéznie a legfinomabb trappista remekek összetevőit: füge, datolya, zserbó és megannyi súlyos komponens tolakodik előre a sorban, minden alkalommal másféle köntösbe bújva. Vastag, testes ízek következnek, túlérett trópusi gyümölcsök, füstös szilva és szirupos élesztő dominál egy melengető, csípős alkoholos keretben, mely alkotóelemek olyan mesteri rendben állnak össze, hogy minden egyes korty során a tökéletesség az első szó, ami eszünkbe jut.

A good brown, can’t really put a title on it. Pours a very nice thick red with very little head. Smells very good, like cherries and cranberries and a bit of rose. Taste is boozy, with lots of cranberries, and a bit of lambic. Finish is candied fruit. Had in the bottle at Rockbottom Brewpub.

This beer has a dark murky body with some lighter mahogany and reddish brown highlights. From the pour I got a thin creamy off head. The small head quickly fades to a light film covering with a ring of foam at the edge of the glass. Lacing is slick and slides right down the glass. It has a big fruity/estery aroma with hints of dark dried fruits like raisins and plum or prune. There are also notes of yeast and sweet bready/toasty almost chocolaty malt and as it warms I get some cherry notes too, along with mellow hints of its big 10.5% abv. It starts with its good sweet malty base and then adds fruity and yeast notes to the mix. Everything from the aroma is picked up here and slowly fades off the tongue with some mellow peppery/spicy hops and boozy alcohol. Its full bodied and finely carbonated, which I feel is perfect for the style

The color is an opaque orangeish brown with a small light tan head and quite a bit of large-grain sediment floating throughout (but more concentrated towards the bottom of the glass). The aroma blends booze (which is almost too much), fig, caramel malts, clove, and dark fruit, and the taste is a complex blend of a silght umami, mild sourness, and a touch of malty sweetness. The palate fuses a malty (mostly caramel malts) and slightly boozy finish, thick and slick texture, medium-full body, and a soft carbonation.

Reddish brown of color with a foamy beige head. An aroma of candy, sweets and spice. A flavor of candy, sweets, spice and dark fruits.

Aroma of caramel. Pours cloudy brown with minimal head. Heavy sweet flavours. Full bodied with slightly sticky texture, average carbonation. Overall a nice strong beer, if a bit on the sweet side.
