3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours a hazy copper brown with a thick light tan head. Good lacing and retention. Aroma is sweet and spicy. Brown sugar, raisins, cloves, and some toasty malt. Taste is quite sweet. Flavors include toffee, caramel, some darker fruits and some sort of exotic spice and brown sugar. Good mouthfeel, rich, smooth, and warming. Pretty dang good, but a little too sweet for me.

Arom of malts and fruit. Taste of alcohol heat, raisins, roasted malts, yeast, bread, etc. Not bad but would find it difficult to consume more than one a sitting.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A dark brown ale, with a bit of head. Fruity on the nose. Malty, fruity on the tongue. No hop detected nor expected. A decent quad, but not of the caliber of Bernardus, methinks.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
