In short: A strong and vinous Belgian blonde ale with a strong barrel character that manages to remain refreshing. Excellent.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Light but pleasant nose of grapes, some tropical fruits and some floral notes. Taste is sweet and vinous (white wine), tropical fruits, floral notes reaching flower juice territory, strong wood barrel presence. A light but pleasant barrel wilderness really raises the score for me, this is no Jolly Pumpkin but the barrels did add a little wild note. A little tannic at first but quickly grew on me and I found the second half of my glass more pleasant than the first, the mark of an excellent beer. I like the regular Rigor Mortis Blonde but this is a major improvement over the regular version. I don’t remember seeing such an improvement after a few months of maturation since my 6th grade sweetheart gained a full cup size in a single semester.

On tap @ DDC. Nose is great. Big notes of fruity yeast. Quite citrusy. Tiny wild/funky hint. Taste is very yeasty, fruity and citrusy. Some hints of mango. Nice bitterness. Very surprising !

Hazy blonde with a nice lace. Intense and beautiful nose of esters, red currants and light hops. Full bodied, a little vinous, with the oak taking a large part of the aromas away. It was really nice enjoying this one, but hard to drink a whole glass. I found that the oak became more and more present with each sip, leaving some stickiness and tannins on my tongue. A little bit too oaky for this beer I believe, but nevertheless, flavors were great.
