3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Quevillon (1955) - Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 16, 2010
Drank on tap (12 oz) at the Montreal brewpub, on December 12, 2010. Burgundy dark, little head with lace. Barley malt aroma with notes of juicy berries. Raw barley taste slightly sweet, really malty, aftertaste of bitter cereal. Really malty this Rigor Mortis, but it has not a lot characteristics of a trappist ale!
2.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DeanF (1477) - Iqaluit, Nunavut, CANADA - DEC 16, 2010
Has a decent amber colour with oh so modest head, and a faint malt aroma. Taste is light malts with a dry hoppy finish. Drinkable, but I’m not feeling the trappist connection.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dickinsonbeer (5075) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 2, 2010
Tap at BT. Pours a nice clear clean amber with a thin lasting head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, sweet candi sugar, earthy tones, some fruity esters- plum raisin, even pear.. Flavor is molasses, toffee, light tobacco earthy hint, phenolic belgian yeast- peppery, spicy, but mostly clean, not too sweet overall, and a fairly dry finish. Pretty good for a dubbel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 7, 2010
On tap at Dieu du Ciel, served in a tulip. Pours hazy mahogany with a small tan head. The head mostly fades but leaves a good amount of lace. The nose is roast malts, with maple and brown sugar, raisin and a hint of yeast. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout. It acquires a moderate hop bitterness towards the finish. The finish is long and malty. On the palate, it is medium in body with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent dubbel. It has beautiful complex malts but these are complemented by a nice hop accent in the finish. Another great beer from Dieu du Ciel. 2010-09-04
