ChrisThomson (374), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2009 Draft at Volo. For me way too sour overall. Pours reddish brown colour. Hibiscus flowers dominate, berries and spice. Not bad, just not for me. Cavie (1289), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2009 Bottle courtesy of thirdeye11. Clear orange pour. Smells sour with sweet/sour hops. Taste is fairly smooth with some niceness of fruit. Finishes well. Good. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 27, 2009 bottled, thanks hanniku and Timo A! Red-amber color. Sweet flowery-berryish flavor with raspberry and orange. Sweetish berryish flavor with raspberry, strawberry, orange and some sulfur. Interesting long spicy, berryish and more beery finish. very original, wide variety of aromas and flavors from aroma to finish. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Oct 25, 2009 Clear light ruby with a bubbly head. Herbaceous aroma, with rose and sour candy. Light bitterness, soft easy drinking carbonation, with a but of a sour end. deyholla (504), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a pinkish red with a thin off white head. Aroma is very flora with clear hibiscus notes. Flavor is light an fruit with a sweet floral undertone though a bit watery. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 19, 2009 Pours the color of a blood orange with a nice murky haze and a one finger frothy white head. Nose is very interesting, discernible pink grapefruit, fruity, some spice, some phenol. Flavor is similar, pink grapefruit rind, spicy, some strange stuff going on. Palate is crisp with a certain sharpness. Very interesting I’ll say. rcweir (118), Massachusetts, USA Oct 18, 2009 Deep clear rose/orange with thin cream head. Spice/fruit aroma. Medium body, slightly sweet with floral notes and acidic finish. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a beautiful pink-orange with a small pink-tinted chapeau. aroma is of perfumey hibiscus with sweet wheaty undertones. I’m familiar with hibiscus from when we lived in Australia, where we were given small hibiscus blossoms in light syrup to put in our glasses of bubbly (usually prosecco) at a party. Very cool idea, and the aroma and flavour is perfectly reflected in this beer. Flavours are perfumey hibiscus with a suggestion of strawberries. The palate is light, and the finish is dry. An interesting idea, and really a very nice beer. I wonder where they get their hibiscus from...
