blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Apr 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours unclear red orange with a light pinkish head. Sweet aroma of tropical fruits and flowers. The flavor is also on the sweet side with fresh flowers, a general fruitiness, a wheaty base, and moderate bitterness. Interesting for sure. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 20, 2009 Bottle.
Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white/light pink, fully diminishing.
Body is hazy medium reddish-pink, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of strawberry, lemon/lime soda.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, tongue-coating.
One for the folks who like fruity soda pop. A bit of a dirty aftertaste and filmy tongue-coating mouthfeel make it literally unpleasant. Drain pour, sadly. bboeckl (133), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Apr 20, 2009 Interesting flower beer. Thank you Mr. Jim Daley for taking me on this incredible journey. Red, light bodied, wheat aromas, mixed with fleeting aroma and flavor of habiscus. More of a novelty than anything else but enjoyable none the less as all beers from Dieu du Ciel are. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 14, 2009 12oz bottle from BOTW. Pours a bright berry red with a ring of white cream and some lace on top. Aroma is flowery and fruity with a touch of grain. The flavors start our fruity and just a touch sour, almost candy-ish. But the after taste fad to a boring light-beer note. Note sure what that is about - perhaps its the wheat beer base. An interesting beer that is a little like herbal tea, a little like chic beer. Sophisticated, yet basic. Spab (236), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 13, 2009 341 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light reddish orange with tiny white head. Distinct floral, fruity aroma with slight spiciness. Flavour follows aroma though more tart than sweet. Slightly bitter finish and nicely carbonated. Interesting. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Apr 7, 2009 A florescent orange color with a hint of red. No head at all. Aroma is floral and fruity and is quite sweet. Flavor is muddled with passion fruit, light spice notes and light wheat notes. It is also just a bit effervescent in the mouth but otherwise thin. This was a simple little beer and one that offers little excitement. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Apr 5, 2009 Updated: Apr 8, 2009Bottle. Slightly hazy deep pink with a small head and a still body. Very nice floral aroma with a mellow spiciness and notes of papaya and mango. Medium bodied. Flavour of herbal tea, with hibiscus and berry notes, and a bit of chamomile. bedainedebiere (274), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada Mar 29, 2009 It could impress an open minded beer-reticent mom on a warm summer day. A white beer, pinkishly colored, very fragrant. Really not a beer I would drink often but the flavors are powerful and pleasant. Not much subtilities since everything is in the flower zone but quality is obvious, carbonation is appropriate and it is all in all pretty enjoyable. In Quebec imaginary country, 11,99$ for a six-pack.
