lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Feb 12, 2009 Nice thick mahogany-rose pour. Aroma is obviously unique, with an extremely floral bouquet and notes of white wine, slight sourness, and a bit of nutty-yeastiness. Flavor is subtle and delicate, flowery and vinous, with a good amount of acidity. Nice dry citrus-and-yeast finish with some subtle hazelnut and spice. Extremely unique and well worth a try. Palate is creamy and slightly dry. Very nice. BigBeer45 (676), Troy, Michigan, USA Feb 10, 2009 Bottle from Champanes, has a hazy red pour that resembles a blush wine with more carbonation, there are white bubbles to make a small head that lowers to a ring and patchy covering, a gentle effervescence, bottom of the bottle was completely covered with sediment (this stuff is unfiltered), aroma of light fruit and berries, I got fragrances of sugar and flower sweetness, some herb aroma that reminds me of teas I have had, orange and lemon citrus aromas, nose wise this comes across as fruit beer more than a spiced beer in aroma, berry and herb flavors along with lemon citrus, there is a hint of grapefruit in this brew, finish ends dry on the palate with a little lemon skin flavor, very nice, nice mouth feel with some creaminess, a very nice drink, I thought the hibiscus went well with the Wit beer recipe, yes, this would be a nice thirst quencher on a hot day as the brewer advertises, I just wished this beer was a little more affordable. grandgenie (252), gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 31, 2009 Acheté à la trappe à fromage et dégusté dans un verre de saint arnould.
nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Jan 29, 2009 One of the girliest beers I’ve ever had, but I have to admit it’s pretty good. Reddish color with an off-white head. Heavy carbonation, flowery fruity taste, reminiscent of a wine cooler (something I would never go within 10 feet of), but better. Not much bitterness - this may have a negative IBU rating. Embarrassingly enjoyable. JCB (1716), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jan 25, 2009 11.2oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. For some reason I expected pale straw yellow, and what I got was a somewhat cloudy reddish pour, with amber at its center and pink at the edges. And I was surprised at how soft and floral the nose was, more than the trace elements I had in mind. It’s actually a fairly appealing aroma, blending well with the style’s yeasty qualities. This held true for the flavors, where the delicate fruits and flower play gently with the yeasts to give the beer a mellow tartness that seems entirely consistent with the hibiscus. Quite nice. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours a decent amber with a slight head. Aroma is weak sweet flowers. Flavor is sweet flower with touches of subtle tropical berry in the finish. Almost like a sweetened Saison. Average mouthfeel. Not bad. Refreshing. walleye (876), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jan 21, 2009 poured a cloudy orange brown with a small head. aroma citrus, my wife’s flower garden, wheat, tangerine. flavor, fruity, orange, honey, grapefruit, wheat. I hope this is around this summer this will be nice on a hot summer day TheKeg (23), Louisiana, USA Jan 9, 2009 Bottled: Pours out cloudy and pinkish. The color reminds me of grapefruit juice. Small foamy head that dimished to ringing about halfway through the glass. Very fruity aroma. No "beer" taste to it at all. Flavor was tart and fruity. Light bodied brew. This is an excellent beverage for hot summer days.
