Commercial Description:
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

Cloudy pinkish-amber. Very wheaty aroma is slightly floral, spicy, yeasty. Spicy taste, lightly fruity, with hints of coriander and hibiscus. Finishes wheaty, floral and refreshing.

Bright orange in colour, thin pink coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is very floral, perfumey, peaches, cherries, sugary sweetness. The flavour is of rose petals, melons, lots of mixed berries, light tartness with a moderate sweetness. Sweet creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes floral, sweet, lingering and prickly.

This was quite nice, lovely mouthfeel, soft and refreshing. As bizarre as it is good.

341ml bottle from the Marché Jovi in Gatineau, Quebec.
Opened on February 1 2008.
Bottled in August 2007.

12oz bottle consumed on 5/25/08 thanks to xnoxhatex for sharing this bottle. Pours orange red with a beige head. Interesting nose of rose petals, flowers, dried apricots, sweet and surprisingly herbal. Floral flavors. Roses, sweet fruit that dry out in the finish.

Bottle at Flatbread: Almost no head, very floral aroma, gorgeous red hue. The hibiscus tea of the beer world. The hibiscus is present but not overly so. As others before stated, this is a great hot weather beer.

Pours rose pink/red, very little head and short-lived. Aroma and flavor of hibiscus, spice, flowery in general. Bitter aftertaste. Very interesting.

12 oz. bottle on 6/25/2008.

Aroma - Distinctly floral backed up by honey, peaches, apricot, and a dose of maybe cinammon?

Appearance - Deep amber with a garnet cast, fine bubbly white head that is, unfortunately, short lived, and leaves behind only sparse lace.

Flavor - Delicately sweet flavors of light fruit accented by some subtle floral notes. A gentle citrus tartness and soft bitterness slowly ascends even out the finish.

Palate - Light to medium body, soft carbonation, smooth, leaves a lightly dry palate that complements the flavor and aroma.

Overall - This is a delicate and nicely balanced beer. Refreshing, drinkable, and not overdone. An easy beer to enjoy, and a good one to have on hand for those new to craft beer.

Bottle. 11.5 fl. oz. Unclear, magenta color with fine, white head. Floral, fruity aroma. Texture is a little thin with a dry finish. Flavor is rather tart, but finshes sweet strawberry. An interesting change of pace. I like it.

Cloudy strawberry-colored beer, with a thick white lace - strong aroma of herbs and rose hips, with a mellow tartness, wheaty character, some other floral components - it smells refreshing - nice soft mouthfeel - light-bodied and refreshing - starts out quite tart, with strong flowers and cooling herbs (almost minty) - very mild sweetness and wheat flavors emerge late - the finish tastes like rose petals and herbal tea - cooling, minty finish - very unique and quite delicious - great for the warm weather.
