This beer just wasn’t for me... Fresh flower bouquet on the nose. Flower up front. Finish’s with a bloody mary or type flavor very interesting. marinara pforei (338), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 2, 2008 On tap at Dieu Du Ciel, and Mondial. Glow Stick red/amber color with moderate head. Oddest color I ever seen for a beer. Notes of basil/tomato on top of a floral/fruit backbone. Acidic towards the end. Tough to get my head around. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2008 From a 12-ounce bottle purchased at John’s Marketplace in Portland, OR--Poured a crystal ruby body (slightly burgundy in color) with a small wispy white head. Sour, flowery, piquant nose. Crisp, sweet, floral flavor. Well carbonated and finished nicely with a rosy follow through. Quite interesting! ChainGangGuy (2555), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a bubbly, diminishing, white head.
Smell: An indistinct wheat malt note. Definitely flowery, lychee, roses, and and melted scented candles.
Taste: Pale, wheat maltiness that’s somewhat sweet. A bit more pronounced fruit and floral character than the nose, even a bit tropical. Lychee, honeydew melon, and orange peel. Spoonful of a frozen Bahama Mama. Touch of acidity midway. Very light bitterness. Finishes sweet and floral.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not bad at all. Dare I say it was surprisingly pleasant. hopscotch (5472), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Bottle…Cloudy, light orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Funky, spicy aroma provides clove phenols and hibiscus essence. Vero Beach carries the Hibiscus City moniker and those flowers are blossoming year-round in everyone’s landscaping. There’s no mistaking their spicy, floral aroma and this brew is loaded with it. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Restrained acidity with equal sweetness. Herbs and flowers. Decent bitterness affords great balance. Lengthy, tingly finish. Bottled provided by glouglouburp! ckau (26), north east, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 1, 2008 The Hibiscus really give a different look to a normal wheat beer. Pinkish amber with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is laced with a lingering floral aroma. The beer was smooth and delicate. Nothing stood out, maybe a little taste of brett? Probably would be good beer to bathe in if you wanted to smell like a flowery beer. RCL (1460), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Pours an ever-so-slightly-pink shade of amber. Super floral aroma with hints of citrus. Tastes like you are drinking flowers. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I’m kinda on the fence about it, myself. Cornfield (4926), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2008 It pours light, slightly hazed body with a pale red tint and a short, pale pink head. The aroma is floral (hibiscus, I presume) with underlying buttery malt and a light wheaty tartness. It tastes perfumey, but not in a bad way, with dry spices and a citric fruitiness and tartness. More interesting than enjoyable.
