Commercial Description:
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

A really unusual color, kool-aid orange when held up to the light, a much deeper red otherwise, a finger of pale peach head resting at the top. A bit of a funky farmhouse scent to it, straw and hay and a bit of floral citrus. Heavy floral notes and a vague underlying citrus. Very nice mouthfeel, well balanced with a slightly citrus aftertaste. Eassy enough to drink, but the heavy floral notes make this a ’one beer’ session. Serving type: bottle

Pours like pink straw. Rocky white head with big bubbles. Herbal, flowery aroma with undertones of richer meat-like or musty aromas. Weird, undefinable flavors (well, it must be the hibiscus) - herbal, slightly medicinal. Good for beer in this category, but not one I would drink a lot of.

Pours a light amber in color with red highlights and tones to it. Decent frothy head on the pour. Smell is I’m guessing the hibiscus flower that’s added. It gives it a very acidic, tart cherry flavor and smell. This is a decent outdoors beer I enjoyed sitting on my back patio in the sun. Clean and crisp on the mouthfeel, this is an easy drinker. However, I feel I’ve had enough of the hibiscus flavor and one bottle is enough.

Nice rosy reddish tinted body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh malt, strong alcohol, hops and a bit of coriander seed. Light-bodied; Strong alcoholic taste with some rose hips, curacao and coriander seed most noticeable. Aftertaste shows some clarity, malt and spice...not amazing, but still good. Overall, a decent beer - still not as good as any of the beers in the brewpub in Montreal, but good to try south of the border! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchsaed from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 03-May-2008, sampled on 25-May-2008 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Pours a hazy pinkish grapefruit color with a spotty-lacing white head. Strange floral nose has some grapefruity citrus character that’s not hop-related. Body starts semi-sweet with a nice lightly tart balance and floral character before finishing more dry and doughy. A pretty interesting, unique and enjoyable beer.

Feathery wisp of an orange pour with a glimmering of short lived pink tinted bubbles. Soft lightly pungent herbal aroma; full of lavender and rose and a brimming citrus blossom brightness. Dried tomato. Some acetic acid and peppery spice. Distantly hollow. Clean floral flavor with a healthy, brisk wheat character of crispy cloves and bananas supporting substantially. Burgeoning acidity of citrus imbued vinaigrettes leaving an apricot and plum intimation of understated fruit. Laid back. It could really use some bold funky yeast presence to expand its reach; as is, it’s quite detailed, but lacking in that visceral aesthetic. Light to medium body is soft and healthfully carbonated; a wet summer melon in the finish, offering a caressing acidity that’s chased very fittingly by the dry, pervasive floral touch. A likeable, quizzical and memorably different offering, even if it comes across as a cheeky "Fantome light" at times. Thanks Dany!
