DalzAle (476), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Jul 27, 2009 Bottle. Hazy ruby/orange pour, little carbonation and a sour floral aroma. Flavor is herbal orange, some vanilla and finshes tart and citrusy. Ok beer, but not worth $5 a bottle. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jul 19, 2009 11.5 oz bottle. Beer pours a light pink/reddish color with a white head. Aroma is light, sweet, citrus, flowery. Flavor was light and smooth. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 18, 2009 11.5oz bottle. Pours a cloudy, bloody orange colored body with a thin, light pink, fizzy head that dissipates immediately and leaves a light lacing around the edges. As for the aroma...well it smells like a flower. Lots of perfume-like fruity aromas with some wheat, honey, slightly tangy citrus, and a light spicy yeastiness. Flavor is very well balanced. I was expecting it to be lopsided and lean more towards either a flowery spicing or sour fruit, but it really works well. Sweet malts with a light wheat taste, florals, a light acidic bitterness, honey, lemons, oranges, and a bit of a spicy yeast. Palate is full and clean with a moderate aftertaste of sweet wheats and flowery fruits. Overall, another winner from these guys. Great body for a beer with this type of flavor. They really made this work. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 18, 2009 Why was I surprised when I poured this out and it was dull red / pink? Small white cap that lasts for awhile leaving very nice silty, spotty lacing on most swirls. Excellent, strong aroma that made my mouth water instantly. Tons of floral up front, sour raspberries, grains - very appealing. The taste does not live up to the same standards set by the aroma but it is still very good none the less. Sourness is number one here with a very weird drying, acidic after taste of flavours that just confuse. More grains, faint, dull raspberries or even weaker cherry, ample wheat that seems to hold back too much of the goodness hiding and well placed light spice. A pretty fine brew that fades in interest after the aroma factor. noncaloric (602), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jul 9, 2009 Hazy amber with a ruby glow, modest white head with a tinge of pink. Aroma is very faint, tinges of pear and champagne. Flavor is a peardrop witbier with generous additions of spices, cinnamon and nutmeg warmth. All this against a musty background. Very delicate flavors overall. Medium bodied, soft but not really sparkly on the carbonation. TearsforBeers (171), Ohio, USA Jul 9, 2009 Pours a hazy, rosy amber with a little bit of white head. Aroma is of wheat and what must be hibiscus, very nice. Interesting flavor - again, wheat comes through with ... hibiscus. It’s slightly sweet and very nice, especially as this is a flavor I’d not experienced until now.
It’s got a soft smooth lightly acidic mouthfeel, very refreshing.
Overall, this is an overpriced but very nice beer. j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009
Bottle from Dépanneur Peluso. One of the guys working there recommended this, and a cider to mix it with, so I picked up two bottles of this… one to try solo, and one to mix with the cider. I’ll try that at some other point. Pours a very hazy pink to crimson hued light amber, with a medium white head that fades fast. Lovely floral aromas, light wheat fruit. Gorgeous and delightfully unexpected. Lightly sweet with a great floral flavor and some berries. Finishes lightly with a touch of acidity. I was quite impressed by this, but then again, it’s DdC, so I shouldn’t have doubted. Wish I bought more than 2 bottles of this.
MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a opaque pinkish orange with little head and aromas that are sweet, fruity and flowery. Flavor is fairly similar, but has a tart little finish to it that keeps this one in the fairway... It’s interesting... and overpriced.
