COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

eaglefan538 (2779) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - APR 25, 2008
Bottle from statelineliquors.com. Pour was pink shaded golden, nice carbonated head (like soda-pop, though), spotty lacing (like soda), not impressive looking other than the interesting color (but which didn’t look like a beer). The aroma was fruity cherry roses, slight spicing. The flavor was like a spiced, lightly hopped standard belgian ale with fruity notes (cherries, like cherry 7up in some ways), more spices, a fruity-spiced belgian ale type of brew. I so much love the standard belgian ales (not strong) these days, this was an interesting twist, a bit too spicey for my liking, floral notes decent. The mouthfeel was light (not enough body, filtered the yeast?), carbonated, and substantially acidic. A nice brew, but it fell short of being great. Has enough potential, though, to be great - more body, slightly less spicing!

TomDecapolis (4223) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - APR 21, 2008
Pours a mostly translucent ruby amber with orange notes and a smaller bubbly white head that left some light lacing. Aroma was all sorts of various floral notes, some tropical fruits, pepper, wheat, some hints of ginger, perfume and light citrus. Flavor of orange peel, floral notes, tart wheat, dry finish, some honey, mixed berries and some tropical fruits.

kkearn (1165) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2008
Bottle. Poured clear rose colored with a small pinkish head. Herbal, floral, earthy aroma with wheat and berry. Flavor was wheat and spice up front, which was soon joined by tart berries, citrus, coriander, flowers, and mild hops. Long, mildly sour finish.

Bottle courtesy of hogtownharry. Pours amber to reddish copper with a white head. Smells of hay, flowers, citrus, roses. Tastes of sugar and roses with some tarte touches and an unusual caramelly and tangy finish.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark pinkish maroon color, with a thin off-white pink head. Nice wet lacing on the glass. Big floral grain aroma, and spicy. Hops are subdued, but there. Spicy body upon sipping. Ginger and sarsaparilla. Lots of farmhouse qualities. Malty backbone. I’d label this a saison. Very drinkable, sticky finish. Crisp and smooth.

fishingnet (1047) - Brandon, Florida, USA - APR 17, 2008
Bottle. Pours a hazy pink with a large pink head that fades to a ring leaving some lacing. Aroma is very floral with notes of tropical fruits, spices, wheat, and yeast. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of flower petals. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and hint of acidity. Very good.

Bottle. Rose-pink color with circle rim head. Floral, wheaty cherry-mangrove scent. Grainy. Similar in taste. lightly earthy, like eating a petal leaf. Aromatic all throughout like a full smell of my local house plant.

Bottle. Slightly hazy deep pink with a small head and a still body. Very nice floral aroma with a mellow spiciness and notes of papaya and mango. Medium bodied. Flavour of herbal tea, with hibiscus and berry notes, and a bit of chamomile. A really interesting and enjoyable beer - I agree that it would be great on a hot summer day.

DocLock (6800) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2008
Bottle. Pours turbid ruby magentaish with 1-finger off-pink head. Nose is malty, spicy, floral, with some berry notes. Tastes perfumy, floral, on the dry side, with some berry, earthy, and yeasty spicy notes. The palate is complex, unique, and contains some floral, berry, and fruity flavors that I have never encountered before. As with all the Dieu Du Ciel beers I have had so far, this one is just dripping with flavor, aroma, and originality.
