COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

July 1, 2012 5.9% abv, 341 mL bottle, BTL 04/12; lager glass Aromas of light fruit, wheat, and some muted floral notes. There is this weird earthy/musty thing going on as well. Overall, pretty muted. Pours a hazy wheat pink with some active carbonation evident. This is interesting looking. Decent white head, pretty foamy. Very light grassy hops come after some light wheat flavours (comparing to a wheat ale). Spices are evident, though I can’t distinguish what they are. Interesting. Active carbonation leaves a bitey finish. Very refreshing and dry. A little confused. This one is very refreshing, but the overall taste is pretty lacking. Spices mix well with the carbonation, though. Another go is likely necessary.

Colpito positivamente.

Pours clear reddish pale amber with one finger of short-lived off-white head, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is berries, light wheat, floral, light yeast. (6/10) Taste is moderate sweet, low bitter, slight tart. (6/10) Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, quick finish. (3/5) Not all that great: reminds me of some of Innis & Gunn’s better products - e.g. the Cherrywood. It’s sweet and fruity, but without a lot of depth to back it up. The hibiscus is less pronounced than I was hoping it would be, but I’m not sure more emphatic floral notes would help all that much. Not one of DDC’s best offerings. (12/20)

Magnifique couleur rosée, malheureusement, ceci constitue l’attrait principal. Pas mauvaise, mais pas de saveur suffisamment distinctive pour en faire une bonne bière non plus.

Poured from bottle. Bottled 11/14, 5.9%. Aroma of citrus and herbs. Pours a cloudy red with a pink hue, minimal head. Has a light sour taste. Light body with average carbonation and astringent finish. Like the description says, a nice brew for the summer.

Wow, what a weird looking beer. Head looks a little like a milkshake. Appearance is a hazy pinkish hue. Good lacing. Taste some berries, more strawberry/raspberry type, maybe even a bit of cherry. Floral aroma as well as herbal tea scents. Pretty good. Pretty easy flow for a thick looking brew.

[Tap] Pours a light ruby color with little head. Fizzy carbonation. Floral aromas mix with cereal grains and some coriander. Notes of perfume, wheat grains, ripe strawberry, rhubarb and yeasty flavors. Light and dry. Mild tart finish. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

A very pretty rose colored pour with a pink head. Has nice floral aromas and flavour. Interesting and not bad!

12oz bottle bb01/15 from Mondial Mulhouse Shop 2014- 5.9%. Pours as decoratively clear pink as the water in those floating candle vases. Fata morgana white head. Smells sweetish with a lemomade sour touch, much like an exotically spiked Radler: candied rosehip tea, pickled hibiscus flower. Hard to tell which base beer style is underneath here. Bit too slick, sparkly and lemonade-like in mouthfeel to my winter liking. Maybe in context, in a French-Canadian summer...

Pretty different. The colour is an amazing pink orange. Not much of a head and no lacing. Light aroma of malt and yeast. Light sweet over predominant sour taste. Lively carbonation in a watery body with a dry aftertaste. Will try my next one on a hot summer day.
