The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

July 1, 2012 5.9% abv, 341 mL bottle, BTL 04/12; lager glass Aromas of light fruit, wheat, and some muted floral notes. There is this weird earthy/musty thing going on as well. Overall, pretty muted. Pours a hazy wheat pink with some active carbonation evident. This is interesting looking. Decent white head, pretty foamy. Very light grassy hops come after some light wheat flavours (comparing to a wheat ale). Spices are evident, though I can’t distinguish what they are. Interesting. Active carbonation leaves a bitey finish. Very refreshing and dry. A little confused. This one is very refreshing, but the overall taste is pretty lacking. Spices mix well with the carbonation, though. Another go is likely necessary.

Brown bottle, 330ml. Pours ruby red with a thin white head residing as a ring. Scent is dense sort of rose candy flavor. Light pale ale I think. Taste is consistent flavor and what seems to be cinnamon or ginger bread. Mouthfeel is dry like grapes, surprisingly so and a nice sour. Excellent.

Pink pour, smaller head that fizzes out fast. Hibiscus and more hibiscus in the aroma, almost perfumey. Hibiscus dominates the palate as well, though I do get a bit of raspberry and a bit of what in there as well. Lighter body with a slightly spicy finish (thank goodness). OK for what it is, but those looking for a better beer with hibiscus drive about 2 hours southeast and thank me later.

Bottled, 330ml from Village de la Biere, Strasbourg, France. Pink with short lived head. There is a musty, sweet note to this from the start, slightly fungal, yeasty then sweet Turkish Delight, rose petal note. Too sweet for me unfortunately.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - bright orange to red, almost lava, in fact. Decent head which didn’t quote hang around long enough. Nose - sweet floral, perfume notes. Hints of Turkish Delight. Red berries. Taste - sweet berry and orangeade. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - interesting but a bit too sweet on the finish.

Beautiful rosy colour with a small, bubbly head. Aroma is extremely floral with a lot of hibiscus and some fruit. Taste is not overly sweet (a huge plus), with a slightly spicy finish.

11.5 oz bottle shared by ebone1988 for the damn book. The pour is a bright pink/red color with a light pink ring of head and s few spots of lace. The aroma is rather fruity and surprising. There is a light slice to it as well. It’s got a wet leafiness happening that I’m definitely not a fan of. It’s really interesting. Fruity and floral with a decent hop and a pretty strong spice. This should be pretty interesting; here we go. It’s incredibly sweet. There is like a lacto milkshake thing that just sucks. It’s not good at all. There is a light citrus and a dominating lactose sweetness. Jesus. The mouth feel is thicker and lightly heavy with soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet, milky, strawberry smoothie happening. This isn’t good.

Damn book. Aroma is floral, fruity, spices, decent. Appearance is hazy, red, light light pink head. Taste is flowers and spice. It’s hot a resin to it. It’s pretty basic other than that. Mouthfeel is watery, light to medium body, light carbonation, floral aftertaste. Overall, I think the same result could have been achieved by just eating a hibiscus flower.

Nice fluo red colour. Very tropical and fruity noose. Interesting taste : citrus and hibiscus but it's subtle enough. Acidity is strong but the beer is well balanced.
