Commercial Description:
The Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Pours a decent amber with a slight head. Aroma is weak sweet flowers. Flavor is sweet flower with touches of subtle tropical berry in the finish. Almost like a sweetened Saison. Average mouthfeel. Not bad. Refreshing.

11.5 ounce bottle, a perfect 10 selection from mcbackus. Thanks! Pours a hazy reddish tinged pink with a thin head. Looks sort of like a Bloody Mary. Aroma is very floral, which I assume is the hibiscus, with with light spritzy citrus and brown sugar. Sweet overall. Taste is much drier with notes of lemon, hibiscus, brown sugar, plum, earthy notes and oddly, tomato. A whole heck of a lot going on here... too much. Medium bodied.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep pink color ale with a big foamy head with some average retention. Aroma of hibiscus is dominating and quite enjoyable and different. Taste is also dominated by the hibiscus with a ton of wheat malt and some spices which may originate from the yeast strain or maybe some orange peel/coriander mix. Body is full with some good carbonation. Interesting experience and definitely something I would buy again.

Bottle from statelineliquors.com. Pour was pink shaded golden, nice carbonated head (like soda-pop, though), spotty lacing (like soda), not impressive looking other than the interesting color (but which didn’t look like a beer). The aroma was fruity cherry roses, slight spicing. The flavor was like a spiced, lightly hopped standard belgian ale with fruity notes (cherries, like cherry 7up in some ways), more spices, a fruity-spiced belgian ale type of brew. I so much love the standard belgian ales (not strong) these days, this was an interesting twist, a bit too spicey for my liking, floral notes decent. The mouthfeel was light (not enough body, filtered the yeast?), carbonated, and substantially acidic. A nice brew, but it fell short of being great. Has enough potential, though, to be great - more body, slightly less spicing!

Bottle at tasting at Chris Fischer’s (from Liars Club) house. Pours wtih a ruby red body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and full of floral notes with a touch of underlying bitterness. Light bodied, crisp and tingly on the tongue.

Pours a clear, rosey, reddish amber body with a small, fizzy off-white head. The foam settles quickly to just a tiny rim, leaving not even a trace of lacing behind. The aroma is floral and perfumy, with an array of wildflowers and dried fruits showing strong. There are some vinous notes, as well as some aromatic spices like coriander and thyme. The flavor follows suit, with the floral components leaning more towards sour. There is a good deal of astringency, detracting from the overall experience. The mouthfeel is on the watery side, finishing very dry and acrid. I’m not necessarily saying this brew is bad, its just not my thing.
