4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 Tricker (123) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2010

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a deep, murky, gueuze-like tangerine grapefruit with a thin white laced head. Aroma of grapefruit, fresh strawberries, mango, rose petals, honey, fruit punch, raspberry lemonade and slight citrusy, floral hops. Light, roomy body with a very subtly tart, creamy palate. Finishes with a completely clean, juicy swirl. Excellent brew.

As I open the bottle, I get a whiff of age indicating this bottle has been around for a while. I can find no dates on the bottle though, so I can’t verify. At any rate, I know as I start drinking that it hasn’t suffered. The nose is fresh and bright and reminds me of a greenhouse in midsummer - the aromas of flowers other than those we usually think of as ’floral.’ Not delicate, but musky, invigorating, robust. The color is light amber with a hint of rose. Small head. The taste is pleasantly dry - the temptation to make such a beer too sweet was well resisted here - and balanced by a slight brush of hop bitterness. The small malt flavors here allow the hibiscus to shine; there is a bit of acid on the finish that really brings together the aromas and the sweetness. Fantastic; every time I try something from this brewery, I feel like telling everyone I know about my experience.

Bottle:
Pours a turbid pink ( like a cloudy pomegranate juice) in the wheat flute with a billowy pink sticky cap, tiny natural carbonation bubbles wind up the flute sides.
Aroma is from Valhalla; spices, herbaceous floral tones, biscuity, citus...gorgeous demure yet pungent nose.
Lovely rush of flavours meet the palate in the front; coriander, biscuit, herbal, floral, some succulent fruits like ripe peach...then the finish dries right up with an almost puckering spicey-leafy bittering.
Fantastic summer patio witbier.....I normally am not partial to these fruit infused wheats but this is just so unique and well crafted, flavorful refreshing and quenching you have to love it.
Another fine offering from Canada’s premier artisan brewery.

The beer pours rosy, cloudy pink with a small decent head. The bright rose color is almost as invigorating as the aroma - which is amazing! It smells sweet like a floral spring morning, almost a berry notes.. The flavor is delicious, with a prevalent sweetness from the hibiscus flowers thalt I thoroughly enjoy.
