| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2008 Bottle sampled. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of spices galore, pepper, chcolate malt, and caramel. The flavor is a mix of sweet and spicey starts out sweet caramel, chocolate, then spicey pepper. Very odd, but good. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2008 Once again, no idea where this came from. Clear dark ruby, extra-long lasting off-white head. Grainy raw unsweetened malt body with black peppers, red peppers more peppers. Peppery to the point where it can be called hot. If it was on a Chinese menu it would have the little hot pepper logo next to it. The pleasant peppery finish stays with you until you take your next sip which makes it a non-stop experience. One of a kind and very very good. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Bottle - poured a deep copper/dark amber color with a light head. Spicy aroma of dry black pepper, light spicy hops and some earthy doughy malt. Flavor exhibits the dry spice of rye and the unique black pepper flavors with some malty sweetness and faint woody notes. Finishes dry with the pepper dominant in the back of your throat. Very unique flavor profile that is initially puzzling yet very inviting. MrBendo (1042), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Mostly clear orange/copper color with a medium head. Aroma was dominates by peppercorns. The taste opened with peppercorns and rich caramel, which settled down into some sweet rye, and ended with a peppery spiciness on the back of your throat. Not really to my liking, but I’ll have to give some extra points for creativity. (But, I need to grab an IPA for a chaser now) scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Tasting - Perfect Pour - Dark amber, off white creamy head. Opened to aromas of chocolate mint and caramel. Room temp brought out soft crushed peppercorn notes. Earthed chocolate and caramel grainy flavors slide quickly into a warming black pepper tone. Dry rye and pepper flavors stick with you for several minutes after each swallow. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very unique and well made. Love the creativity.... eaglefan538 (2360), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Bottle from SL. The pour was a full amber, average head, laced in rings. The aroma was full black and green peppers and then some. Rich caramel and wheat type malts also detectable. The flavor followed suit, man a mouthfull of peppers, but in a very enjoyable fashion (I was surprised). The bitter wheat/rye base made for a perfect blend, hints of tomatoes also in there. Reminded me of Fantome, creative stuff here. Full mouthfeel. jbrus (4844), Delft, Netherlands
