COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Routes des épices (French for "Spice Route") is a rye beer brewed with both black and green peppercorns. Initially, the beer reveals flavours of fresh grain and malt, which give it notes of chocolate, caramel, and fruit. The pepper flavour and aroma is fully revealed in the finish, which leaves a pleasant, spicy, tingling sensation on the tongue.

Bouteille 341 ml. Bière qui porte bien son nom. Arôme de poivre intense, qui masque malheureusement celles de petits fruits et de caramel. Néanmoins, une bière très intéressante et originale, qui gagne à être découverte. Bottle 341 ml. This beer lives up to its name. Very spicy (pepper), maybe a little too much, since it tends to hide the aroma of little fruit and caramel. Nevertheless, an interesting and original beer that woths a try.

MMMmmm Aromas to please the nose, and a taste adventure with many delicious twist and turns. Great mouth feel and the dry peppery finish is perfect. Over all it is amazing full of flavors that each take there turn never battling for you buds but passing them with perfect delivery like a relay race. The rye and peppercorns are now my third favorite taste combo behind 1) peanut butter and chocolate 2) beer and saw dust.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, smörkola, peppar med toner av smörkola och chili. En aning smörig och oljig karaktär. Fruktig med lätt kropp. Trevlig beska.

Pours a dark red/caramel color with a boozy head and medium carbonation. Aromas of spice upfront or peppercorn, slight caramel, hay, and grass. Flavors of spice upfront of the peppercorns (come out different than expected), slight leather, slight caramel, slight toffee, and hay. Lightly spicy, interesting, leaves a slight spicy bitter aftertaste. Crispy. I would prefer pepper on me veggies better :)

A nice tasty interesting beer. Noted slight tingle on the tongue from the peppercorns but would have liked a bit more. Solid beer just not giving enough of that spice for me.

Bottle. Pours a dark auburnish brown with a non-existent, off-white head. Aroma is a bunch of rye and peppercorn, black pepper. General spiciness abounds as well as a light touch of wood. Taste is very much with some pepper. Light caramel, some wooden tones on the finish. Palate is light, quite carbonated, a slight tingle of a burn from the peppercorns.

Was a taste I was not expecting, but very much enjoyed. I think people should try it at least once.

Pours a dark copper with a slight head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is rye, a hint of fruit, chocolate and pepper. Taste is the same and as advertised, the pepper taste is prominent at the end.

Bottle and Draft. Pours copper red with medium head/lace. Aromas of caramel malt, hops, spice, fruits and light pepper. Flavor brings on the rye spices and peppercorn notes. Medium body with a dry finish. You have to like spices to enjoy this beer from Dieu du Ciel.
