Aroma: hints of black pepper (an ominous warning of what’s to come...?), a little malt behind that and not much more. Palate: med. body and carbonation. Flav.: lots of freshly-cracked peppercorns, a bit of sweet malt. Finishes with a peppery burn and a bit of malt. I like the afterburn. Would be best with food. obguthr (1083), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Weak aroma of anise and black pepper. Clear brown, thin yellowish head. Certainly peppery, not a great flavor for beer, IMHO, but it may complement certain foods very well. I would imagine it goes well with gamy meats. It’s not awful, but it gets tiresome once the novelty wears off. chicagodri (1081), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2008 I thought this was an interesting beer, thought it might be a little higher rated. Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Nice peppercorn and malt aroma. Beer went down smooth, and I enjoyed the pepper flavor in the beer. I could see why others might not like it as much, but I thought it was good. elihapa (1072), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2008 bottle form Rahmen Dep. Pours brown amber. Aroma of spices, little else. Palate featured prickly carbonation. Flavor slightly sweet of malts and caramel, balanced with black pepper spiciness. Definitely a novelty, but flavor didn’t have enough complexity to complement the pepper flavor for me. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

I don’t think so. Certified drain pour.
Nasty, pepper is all you smell & taste.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Slightly off white head. Aroma of black pepper and some caramel. Reddish copper hue. Take a sip and there is a flood of peppercorn with some toasted malts and caramel for a touch of sweetness. Excellent lacing-just hugs the side of the glass. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Mostly clear orange/copper color with a medium head. Aroma was dominates by peppercorns. The taste opened with peppercorns and rich caramel, which settled down into some sweet rye, and ended with a peppery spiciness on the back of your throat. Not really to my liking, but I’ll have to give some extra points for creativity. (But, I need to grab an IPA for a chaser now) Defreni (1049), Frederiksberg, Denmark
