| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 22, 2008 The beer was picked up in a 330 ml. bottle, and was poured into a pint glass. The pou looked amber to orange-brown in color and the head was two finger thick. The smell was quite malty with sweet maple syrup aromas. The taste was malty up front with the spicy sweet rye grains quite apparent, some honey showed up in the middle, while the finish was pure peppercorns. I love all of these flavors so it worked for me wonderfully. The aftertaste lingered on for eternity. The body seemed sticky and creamy. This was a rare find, a beer that pushes the envelope, but still remains very drinkable. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark

This beer, as the name indicates, is rather spicy, coriander, pepper and other. Yet it is not too bitter and quite drinkable. A ramarkable and nice treat!ù JesseM (681), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2008 341mL bottle from a sixer, brought back to me by my parents from a trip I couldn’t go on. Pours a dark red with a burgundy hue. Huge tan head. Aroma is mostly just some indistinct malts, no real hint of what is to come other than some mild pepper. Flavour is an experience, to say the least, starts out nice and sweet, some nice roasty caramel malts, a little rye, and then WHAM my tongue is hit with peppery spicey hottness that takes over and defines the finish and aftertaste. Wow, weird, unlike anything I’ve had before. I honestly don’t even know what to make of this. As it warms the aroma of black pepper corns eminates from the glass more and more. I’ll give it points for originality, and I’m sure people who love spicy things would get a huge kick out of this, but I’m not entirely sure it’s my thing. Interesting experience though. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2008 Shared with a friend, sample from a BOMC. A very out of the ordinary brew. Dark amber beer with a creamy off white head. Spicy caramel malt aroma. Flavor starts with the rye malt, semi-sweet and spicy… then the pepper comes on and leaves a lasting burn at the finish. A very odd concoction. Very well made and enjoyable to sample but there was enough pepper in just one to hold me for a long time.
