COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Routes des épices (French for "Spice Route") is a rye beer brewed with both black and green peppercorns. Initially, the beer reveals flavours of fresh grain and malt, which give it notes of chocolate, caramel, and fruit. The pepper flavour and aroma is fully revealed in the finish, which leaves a pleasant, spicy, tingling sensation on the tongue.

pours reddish brown with fluffy off white head. aroma is a rich caramel malty sweetness with a little bit of spice and dried apricot. Taste is caramel, maybe a little bit roasty, with the peppercorns and fruit rounding out the back end. nice mouthfeel with the pepper adding a little bite. Very tasty, and quite unique flavor

(Perdi a avaliação mais completa) Picante, herbal, levemente defumada. Dulçor e amargor bem equilibrados. Aftertaste apimentado, picante, adocicado.

Strong bready caramel malt aroma with peppery spices. Light floral hop Pours a cloudy amberish brown with small disappearing white head Spice is more prevalent in flavor. A very malty flavor, bread, chocolate, caramel. Peppery spice Medium full bodied with medium co2, lingering peppery spice finish. Interesting beer. I like the spiciness that remains at the finish. It's a bit sweet and hard to stomach. 12 oz is plenty for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle shared with ippopotamo36. Deep amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma of malt, corn, caramel and spices, interesting. Flavour is medium to heavy sweet with pepper and chilli in the end... crazy! Medium body, texture is oily, well carbonated. Interesting!

Appearance: clear ruddy amber-orange, with a shy, dissipating creamy tan head and no lacing. Aroma: not strong--warm caramel and scotch toffee, with a hint of black pepper and marmalade. Taste: caramel, toffee, and candied fruit, with a bit of rye toast and a dash of pepper. Finish: sweet and slightly syrupy (more so than the low abv would indicate), although it ended rather abruptly as well; the finish is where a bit of true heat from the rye and peppercorns came out, although it wasn’t too hot. Notes: Glad to have tried this. I’m a sucker for rye-forward beers, and this was a good, solid offering. Sneaky 11.5 ounce bottle from Westover Market in Arlington, Virginia.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy brown body. The aroma is spice rye bread. Nice. The taste is muddled rye, caramel and peppers. The finish is a nice peppercorn flavor though. The texture is crisp and fizzy. It’s a rye bread in liquid form.
