3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DougShoemaker (3149) - Toronto, - SEP 26, 2006
Aroma is predominately spicey, deepest copper, a small cream head. Flavour is pepper and some assorted spices, and a firm malt backbone too. Medium bodied, well balanced, complex, noteable tongue tingle. Terrific!

341ml bottle
5.3% ABV
I tried this beer on May 18, 2012 at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark brown into the tulip glass with very little head. The aroma was sweet malt, grains, and molasses, with some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. the flavour was grains, pepper, molasses, and some berryish notes, followed by a bitter finish. the pepper notes, while non-existent in the aroma were very pronounced in the flavour.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DavoleBomb (1143) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Poured into a snifter.
4.0 A: Medium brown plum color. Just one fingers of beige creamy/frothy head. Retention is average and a decent sized ring of lacing is left.
4.0 S: Wow, this is peppery. Well, there’s peppery and then there’s PEPPERY and this is the latter. Rye earthy spiciness underneath. Toasty malts with notes of caramel. I dig this.
3.5 T: It’s still peppery, damn peppery, but only a fragment of what the nose presented. Still, it adds a touch of heat on the finish. Rye is appreciated again. Toasty, grainy malts with caramel. Tasty.
3.5 M: Lighter medium to medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Could be creamier, but okay.
4.0 D: The drinkability for this becomes greater as you drink it. The reasoning is that the peppery heat builds up after every sip. By the end, I had a nice warming going on in my mouth and I loved it. Would drink again.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 NordicV (404) - 21213, SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2012
Rödbrun öl med ett beige skum. Doft av malt till att börja med, ju mer glaset värms upp ju mer tränger pepparen igenom. Likadant i smaken. I botten finn en nästan bra rågöl, men pepparen tar över för mycket. Delade flaska med en kompis. En hel hade jag nog inte druckit upp.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 solidfunk (660) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 23, 2012
Doesn’t have a lot of depth. Hard to say what spice is in this. It’s red, good tracing. It’s got good colour but not a lot of overall felling. An alright sessionable beer. The spice route doesn’t have a lot of input. Had on tap at the DDC brewpub.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Gerbeer (137) - vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 19, 2012
341 ml bottle from Firefly. Pours a murky brown the color of liquid brown sugar. High carbonation but little head. Light malt and spice to the nose. Definite ground pepper taste which drowns out the base
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 lightandrhythm (45) - - MAY 12, 2012
Malty caramel taste with a fresh peppercorn finish. Hazy brown color. Soft malt aroma. Bright tingly mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from OmegaX
Appearance - Rusty brown, sudsy lacing
Aroma - Croutons, dirt and cocoa
Taste - Bread, buttery, spicy, peppercorn
Peppercorn was the obvious flavor here, but with a rye combo it certainly was interesting. The body had a pleasant, light crouton flavored body with a nice and spicy peppercorn finish. It may be drinkable, but a beer of this flavor may not be for some...
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RoyalFlushing (36) - Mamaroneck, New York, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Bottle poured a dark reddish brown and large khaki head into a tulip glass with attractive carbonation and slight lacing. Aroma is mainly malt with hints of pepper. Initial flavor is caramel malts and rye bread followed by slight fruit bitterness ending with peppery spice. Peppercorn spice lingers in the mouth and throat. Nice effort, but expected more from aroma.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 umich03jm (179) - Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Murky dark brown pour with very little head. Aromas of caramel malt, rye malt, and fruit. Taste is slightly sweet malt up front, somewhat fruit and spicy in the middle and the finish is smooth leaving a tingling peppery taste on the tongue. Interesting beer. Worth trying, especially if you like pepper.

There she stood, in the mist. Shrouded in mystery. I was unaware of the task she had been appointed. No matter. The wind gave insight to her peppery demeanor. I was a fool to have trusted her, but onward I pushed. Her lips were subtle and lingered a sweetness of caramel and chocolate. What is this trickery? Desperately I yearned for more but I was mocked by her simplicity - a jest. Led astray into a utopian dream, kissed by the adder. For what? I know not. The trees wept at my delight, for they knew the truth behind the trickery. The wind laughed at me. The sun died - but I lived. The apostle in triumph gave rejoice to the resolve of her devilish ways. Into oblivion she disappeared. A good beer.
