4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a transparent golden brown, no head. Sparse carbonation. Aroma: Super peppery. Hints of rye, but the overwhelming smell is peppercorn. Palate: Medium bodied. Smooth and creamy. Nice finish - tiny hint of dryness. Taste: Sweet and spicy. The beer feels sweet like a caramel, and the pepper adds some awesome spice to it. Nice freakin’ beer.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Veiled dark brown color with an amber hue and a moderate amount of activity. Creamy beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 10 to 15 minutes, with some very good legs.
Aromas of molasses, bread, and caramel. Earthy and bready flavors of toffee, molassy, roasted grains, dark fruits, strong herbal feel. Pleasant sugary feel with low sharpness but a little bitter.
Slick full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Light finish of medium length, ending with a thick molassy tongue coat and a lingering peppercorn feel.
Overall very good quality craft having very nice flavors and good freshness. Nicely balanced and well rounded. Perfect black pepper finish that is well intensified and pleasant.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear deep Amber hue under a rocky light beige head. Semisweet bready aroma that’s got a touch of rye and light black pepper. Big rye and black pepper pop on the beginning of the flavor, then melds quickly into a semisweet bready flavor that’s more bock-like than anything else. Mellow overall, only a little nuance at the start then gets one dimensional.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottle. Pours a very little thin layer of head and quickly goes away. Has a reddish burnt copper colour. Has light malty aromas as well as a bit of spices. Flavour is of dark roasted malts, very strong and bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Spiced mouthfeel, not hot, just the sensation. Hint of peppercorns not overly abundant as you would be led to expect. Also in flavour are hints of malts and notes of rye. Hops are quite mild in flavour but more noticeable in aroma. Love this stuff, and quite manageable if on a binge or just for a session.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt dark orange close to bronzed amber. A little white foamy head started and dissipated at a nice pace. Thin stringy lacing spider webbed around the glass.
The smell started off with strong spicy peppercorn up front and then the rye malt amplifying the spice. Delicate breadiness underneath.
The taste was mainly spicy pretty much all of the way through. Spicy peppercorn to rye aftertaste. Smooth grassiness combines in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the spiciness to hit my tongue with some nice harshness.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good rye beer. It’s pretty spicy all around, so don’t expect it to be balanced. I think I could still have it again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Much malt in the smell, sweet bread, nuts, hard bread, a bit dusty.
Appearance: A brown clouded beer with a tan head that leaves little lacing, good curtains though.
Taste: The taste starts sweet and malty, brown bread with honey, then a long spicy feeling.
Palate: Little carbonation, soft and smooth texture that turns into a slightly dry and burning finish.
Overall: A well balanced, good spiced beer, the rye and pepper goes well together.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of toffee and malt. Cloudy amber brown color, bubbly beige head cover, sheets of lace. Taste is solid caramel malt that adds medium carbonation on the swallow before moving to a mildly hopped finish. Accent on the malt here, but very well done. Especially solid for 5.6% abv.
