Hazy gold, lasting white head. Slightly smoky somehow, sweet and sour hay nose. Grainy, fresh and smooth. Spicy hops mingle around the fluffy sweet citrus fruits. Juicy flower syrup, tart herbas and a deft coriander touch complete the aromatics. Bitterness remains under control, it seems like it has boundaries it won’t break to remains easy-going and mass-appealing for the whole festival crowd. The yeast doesn’t quite manage to provide any original rusticity or house character that I’ve come to adore in farmhouse ales. Drying toasted malt gives an quaffable impressing. Light to medium body, moderately carbonated. One that grows on you initially, but that you get tired of drinking after more than a few sips.

A dark blond beer that hits you with tastes of herbs and spices. After you taste the sweetness of oranges. I hope this was not just a one time deal.

Brassé pour la 12e édition de la Bondial de la Bière (2005). Un très bon mélamge d’épice et d’orange. À reboire si possible.

Tap. Golden copper in colour with a thin white head with good retention, lingering lace. The aroma was earthy, lightly spiced, herbal, very light sourness, some grass. The flavour was of fruit (green apples, oranges), herbal-grassy-floral hops, some barnyard as well. There was an assertive tangyness lingering in the mouth but at the same time a very refreshing mouthfeel. Medium body, high carbonation. FInishes with a lingering citric bitterness. Not to bad at all.

Draft. Mondial de la Bière. Golden color lightly troubled with nice white head and good lacings. Yeast and wheat aroma. Taste of wheat, yeast and alcohol. Dry finish. Bière de couleur doré, un peu trouble avec un bon collet blanc qui colle bien au verre. Odeur de levure et de blé. Au goût, c’est le blé, la levure et l’alcool avec un fini sec.

Golden color hue, thick white lacing foamy head, hoppy, wheat note, herbal, pale malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with citrus fruits, acidity, yeasty, hint of dryness with warmth alcoholic note in a bittering hop finish.

On draught at the Mondial, 6/3/2005. Orange-golden-copper. Lightly hazy, full white, lasting head, with good lacing. Smells of musty, sweaty yeast, outdone by a crips, yet plant-like spiciness. Coriander stalks is what I always think of. Flavor is coriander and green, juicy plants. Fresh spiciness, with light hops bitterness, very green and chewy. Very doughy, though not bready or rough in any way. Medium-full bodied, ending malty sweet and quite yeasty. Moderate carbonation amply provides pleasing texture. Much yeast lingers on the finish. No alcohol detected in my samples.
