On tap at DDC. Very slightly hazy gold pour with white head. Aroma is quite lemony, almost like citra hops, classic saison yeast/belgian farmhouse ale aromas, grain. Very hoppy flavor, nice and bitter, quite a bit of yeasty character, herbal, old hay flavors also present. The palate is alright, maybe this beer’s weakest point though, not quite dry enough for the style. Decent saison.

Body is medium, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint fruitiness and some spiciness, some citrus and hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, sharp spiciness (coriander), some citrus with some hoppyness. Saison with bit too sharp spiciness.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MJGG (784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 24, 2011
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DYCSoccer17 (2788) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 31, 2010
12 ounce sample at the brewpub. Aroma is initially grassy, lightly piney, and hoppy. Has some sticky yeast esters present with a floral bouquet. Modestly hazy golden body with a smallish white head. Starts a bit chewy with lots of roasted malts--too many. Some tannins are also in there with yeast esters in the form of bananas. This also has a bit of a weird astringency. Finishes with lots of huskiness and more over the top roastiness. Lacks the hop crispness I look for in a saison.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 godofsky (262) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 18, 2010
on tap at Dieu du Ciel. served in a Tulip glass, this beer pours a clear gold with a creamy white head that left beautiful lacing. the aroma is loaded with spices and yeast. taste is the same but with a burnt caramel flavour that seems to linger. not a bad beer by any means, but not one of my favourites from this brewery. it’s also worth noting that at the brewpub, this beer is listed as 7.8% ABV.
