COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This noble brown winter beer with fiery reflections offers a complex aroma of fruit, alcohol and hops. Once tasted, it is slightly sweet with a hint of burnt caramel. Aged in American oak barrels, the bitterness has eased and it has wooden notes topped with a subtle touch of vanilla. A maderisation occurred after maturation in the barrel (aged one year), and the textures and flavors blend, becoming sweeter.

Bottle thanks to Dany. Pours dark brown with off white head. Nose/taste of dark fruits, soft raisins, toffee, oak, grape skin, caramel and vanilla. Hints of oaky alcohol in finish. Medium body.

Bottle with Tim and Bill pours hazy brown, light head, and lacing. Notes of plum, toffee, peat wood, sweet malts, mineral water, sugar, vanilla and more dark fruits. Medium to full body. Smooth for the alcohol pct.

On tap at underground in edmonton. Pours a very cloudy/muddy brown letting little to no light through and a small creamy off white(from what I can tell in this lighting) around the glass. Aroma is smooth bourbon, some oak, caramelized malt(almost burnt), overall maltiness is rich though slightly masked by the barrel. Flavour is bourbon, alcohol warming, caramelized malts, and oak. Very smooth especially with the bourbon presence.

Tons of bourbon and oak in the nose, with less notes of raisins, coconut everywhere and brown sugar. Moderately sweet, rounded. Full body. Very nice and the bourbon works well with this.

Small yellowish, fine-bubbled head over hazy reddish dark-brown beer. Faraminous nose of wood-lagered spirit, Bourbon and vanilla aromas. Alcohol, and a touch of curry spice. Sweet, liqueurish, liqueurcake with raisins, plums, dried bananas an dried cherries. Again loots of vanilla, crème Anglaise. Too much liquorice, warmin up, however. Quite spritzy, remarkably lively for an oak-lagered beer. Well-bodied, very slick, even alcoholic-viscous, warming. Sweet, strong and rather satisfying. However, if this has a " a subtle touch of vanilla ", then I wonder about the full punch. Sucking vanilla pods? Merci, Fred!

My bottle [341ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman -- c/o Fred82. Pours a deep amber-brown with an average size diminishing tan head. Awesome aroma of dark fruit, hops, brown sugar, oak and alcohol. Flavour of dark fruit, brown sugar, chocolate, hops and oak -- delicious! I love that the barrel-aging isn’t over the top. Pleasant warm finish. Medium bodied. Awesome stuff.

Big thanks to Fred for the Bottle!! Pours a hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma smack if caramel, brown sugar and deep dark mollasses with some booze. Flavor is very very sweet with touches if vanilla and oak but it’s dominated by mollasses and almost burnt sugar. Still it was a great beer.
