3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 lefossoyeur (274) - Montreal, - JAN 10, 2012
Slightly cloudy golden with a fizzy head. Intense citrus notes of yuzu, reminds me of mandarine. Crisp, fresh, just enough citric to make it highly drinkable, light bodied, average carbonation and a citrussy-orange-zesty finish. Interesting brew!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (4784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 11, 2012
In short: An original sour wheat blond beer with an unusual musty/farmhouse and unusual fruity character. Original and very good
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Almost clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: The aroma is very unusual, it is musty, it is scented/floral, I noted fresh potatoes (!!!), sour dough and citrus fruits. Intriguing to say the least. Taste a plenty of crisp bready/wheaty malts, lime, grapefruits, some lemon, dried flowers, farmhouse sensation. Sourness and acidity levels are average for the style. I never had a yuzu and obviously I don’t know what yuzus taste like, so I’m not sure if the unusual aspect of this beer comes from the use of this exotic fruit or something else, but all I can say is there was a really strange but fun farmhouse/musty component to this Berliner Weisse and an equally strange but fun fruity component. A Berliner Weisse made with yuzu, I never ate a yuzu in my life, no problem, I’ll try anything once, 48 times if it’s a good beer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Marheb (673) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 18, 2012

Tap at Dieu du Ciel with Andy, PJ and Niles. Pours golden with a white, whispy head. Notes of apricot and peach. Sweet and sour and a little wheat/yeast. Very tasty.

On tap at the brewery after igloo fest 2012. Pour is light amber, almost later like... Sweet candied sugar, wheat, dusty sweet tang exactly like smarties. Some orange or lychee... Citrus notes.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Quevillon (2013) - Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 8, 2012
Drank on tap (12 oz) at the Montreal brewpub on January 8, 2012. Blonde white slightly hazy, thin head. Aroma of wheat and yuzu quite juicy. Taste of well sour wheat and yuzu, a few notes of herbs, very bubbly with a mineral aftertaste. A beautiful encounter between Germany and Japan!
