Surprisingly hop aroma is a bit mild on this one. Fine head a finger wide. Cloudy (?) light copper colour. Some lacing. Excellent bitterness. Medium strong body. Sharp and crisp. Enjoyable - but I'm sure I have tasted a better batch of this at DdC... On tap.

On cask in August 2008, this was very fresh indeed, strongly floral with tropical fruits complexity and a firm bitterness. highly pleasant and refreshing. Lifting up from 3.3 to 3.8.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2004 9/18/03Maybe there was a mistake by the bartender in mislabeling this beer or the brewer might have forgotten to ad hops...the second most dispointing Canadian IPA since Alexander Keith's.More of a sub par pale ale than a IPA.3/4/5/3/12
Re-rated 6/4/04 Mondial
Cask: Deep golden in color with a small white lacing around the rim. Perfumy floral aroma. Grassy hop flavor with a slight acidity.

beautiful floral hop nose. leaves lots of lace. first sip brings beautiful flavors of apples, oak, slightly bitter but extremely floral hops. more of a softest APA I can recal then an IPA but a great beer. Light, packed with hop flavor, not an IPA but very nice.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - FEB 17, 2003
I have had little experience with cask IPAs so forgive me; this was just too flat and still for me (yes, I know the carbonation is supposed to be less on cask); it seemed the malt and thick body overwhelmed the hops at the front, though they come through somewhat again. I wish I'd been able to have a second one, though; I believe it might have improved. Provisional rating, I need more cask experience!
