UPDATED: MAR 7, 2009 Cask, Leicester Fest ’08 (Thurs afternoon session). Beer Of The Festival so far. Heaped lacy gold. Nose of tangy citrus, with a rub of hopleaf and green apple. Citrussy hop spike softened with oaty mellowness. Big hop finish. Still and silky. Nice.

Cask, gravity, at St Neots Beer Festival ’10. Gold with a small white head. Offputting sulphurous aroma and grim sour taste. Mid bitter finish. Perhaps this wasn’t quite right on the day.

Cask, Leicester Fest 07. Golden with an off-white foam. Aromas are zesty citrus with apricot and pear. Has a good level of hopping with some soda water. Flavours are soft buttery malts with some lemon. Nice and hoppy with grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Decen pine hops on the aftertaste.

Cask@Leicester Beer Festival 2007. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is fruity and zesty and the flavour is lightly hopped and nicely dry. Overall a nice lightly hopped golden beer.

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Festival 16-02-07. This beer poured a golden colour with just the merest hint of a haze and a white quickly dissapearing head. The aroma was really sulphery and as Glenn mentioned we felt that it compared with Pedigree some years ago. The beer had a nice hoppiness with it and a very pleasant citrusy tang and at 3.8% I felt that it had pretty good depth with a lingering finish. Overall a decent beer that was still just a tad rough around the edges.

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Fest 07. Orange gold beer with thin head. Big sulphery, eggy note to the aroma, plenty of Burtonisation going on, the aroma of the old Marstons pedigree we agreed. The beer itself is a light bitter with a lemony citricity and a dry finish. I couldn’t describe this as a session beer as there is too much going on, but pleasant enough.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2011 Cask conditioned - handpump - OGs Wellingborough. A light golden coloured beer. The aroma is sharp lemony hoppiness. The taste also is nice sharp hops a la JHB style beer. Good flavour for its ABV and a vast improvement on the first Digfield beer I had.Score 3.6
Subsequent ratings scored 3.3 and 3.4. Average becomes 3.4
