3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 henry3r (586) - Wichita, Kansas, USA - SEP 4, 2006
The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear, dark reddish brown beverage with a medium sized rocky off-white head that was mostly diminishing but left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was dominated by roasted malt with notes of toast and caramel. There was also a hint of floral hops. The body was medium with a nice soft carbonation and creamy texture. The flavor starts off lightly sweet with hints of molasses. The finish is fairly long and the sweetness fades and is replaced with a light bitterness and an alcohol warmth.

This seemed a bit watered down, it had a kinda good caramel taste, and overall it wasn’t bad, i just didn’t like the body.

Pours a darker brownish amber with a smaller off white head that left slight lacing. Aroma of malts, some caramel, maybe a slight hint of fruits but hard to pick out what. Flavor was also malty, maybe some cherry, some roast and even a slight bitterness. A bit thin and watery.

[Portland International Beer Festival – Tap]
A dark brown brew with a minimal head. This had a strong flavor and a good malt balance. You can tell they took there time brewing this beer. The fruitiness was subtle yet noticeable. I liked this beer it was a good representative to the style.
