Pours dark brown with aroma of some dark malt, slight nuts and chocoff. Light palate, and lacking in balance and complexity.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (6065) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 12, 2002
Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Dark brown color with virtually no head. Very little flavor, just a little malt with a pinch of hops. Unimpressive.

Bottle. Light molasses malt and vinegar aroma. Light clear brown color with small head. Strong dark malt flavor - slightly burnt flavor - strong acidity and moderate carbonation - tastes much stronger than the aroma and appearance would lead you to believe. A perkier dunkel - much more sharp tasting than is typical for the style.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 j12601 (5652) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Bottle. Pours an almost cola brown, which was an ironic bit of foreshadowing, with a thin white head. Aroma of very sweet malt, and little else. The slight malt taste carries over to the mouth where it is joined with a good deal more soda like sweetness and an incredibly thin watery body. Finish is a bit of a letdown too, and features a slight metallic tang.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ernest (5627) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 15, 2002
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium to dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain/bread/nuts), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation.
Straightforward and a bit on the sticky sweet side, but pretty good.

Bottle best i’ve had from this company. Pours a light brown body with some malty caramel aromas. A little like a bock but more like a pils. Not bad for shop rite.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - FEB 22, 2004
Dark chocolate ruby brown with a large tan head. The aroma is very fruity with some cherries, brown sugar, honey and fig. Almost like a dopplebock here. The flavor was smooth and balanced and it finished medium bodied with a full mouthfeel. This was a good dunkel!
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BBB63 (5411) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 14, 2003
Dark amber hue with little head and almost no lacing. Raisin, date, molasses, pumpernickel, and underline spices in the aroma. Strange sour and sweet taste initially followed by a moldy spice and then suddenly hoppy midsection, the finish was dry and smoky. Despite it obvious character flaws, this beer was not really that bad, heck, it was good because it surprised me in every glup. I drank many Dinkel-Acker beers when I lived in Germany.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 after4ever (5294) - Brier, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2006
Draft at Prost. Big off-white head, nice deep brown, ruby-toned body. Clean and straightforward and easy to drink like a lager, but also somewhat unsatisfying that way with such a light body--the lager dilemma (you have to be in the mood, probably). Very thin flavor, but still tasty enough if you take a big pull from the glass.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2005
Deep caramel in color with a creamy off-white head, this has a solid molasses and caramel aroma. The flavor is lightly roasted malt, caramel, a touch of ripe apple, and a nutty bitterness. Pretty decent dunkel.
