From Bottle: a small head leads to a espresso aroma. It had a very dark brown pour as well. Hoppy and sweet.

Aroma is interesting- sweet and salty, with a hint of soy sauce and even some berry notes. Flavor is full and rich, malty, sweet, toasty, with a bit of caramel and no perceptible bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but not watery. I like it!

Draught at the Flying Saucer, dark and malty with red brown color. Small head, aroma was sweet , taste was zesty but left something missing.

A middle of the road dunkel. Poors well and not much of a aftertaste. Wait for it to warm up some to bring out the flavour. Bland until about 55 - 60 degrees.

Bottle. Dark brown color with nice thick head. Lots of flavor. Finishes well. Would try it again.

Rather than give you a rating on my opinions of the Munich Dunkel style (like every other posting I read), I will judge how well this beer performs as an example of the style. Complex malt character with hints of caramel. As is appropriate for this style, the hop bitterness is low but noticeable; balance is tipped towards maltiness. Dark brown color. No hop aroma; most of the aroma comes from the Munich malt. Aftertaste is dominated by the malt as well. Yeast fermented very cleanly; no diacetyl or esters. Though the hops flavor tasted a little stale, most likely this was due to the extended period of time the beer spent on the shelf at my neighborhood store, not a mistake by the brewer. I would recommend this beer. However, be wary of a long shelf life, as this probably isn’t a #1 seller.

Maybe if you burnt your tongue or dipped the rim in manure Dinkelacker Dunkel (Dark) could taste bad. Otherwise this is a stellar beer, with a potent cherry-wood flavor and aroma, smooth body and plesant after taste. If you cannot taste this beer, please consult your doctor immediately. From the bottle, and especially from the tap, this beer is top notch.

Nice and flavorful, fairly sweet beer. Dark and malty with a pleasant aftertaste.
