A ggod straight forward Maerzen beer. Nice smooth beer - a clean malty flavor. Probably only available in Germany. Have yet to be disappointed with any Distelhaeuser beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gary (1139) - West London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2011
(Bottled) I was wasted while rating this , but I got a few notes down , but spilt some of this over my ralph lauren sweater ,im not a clumsy drunk , but as a young entreprenur the stress makes me erratic . I cant drink Oktoberfest style beers without passing a thought to Spaten’s example ....this would have its ass kicked in the second round if boxing with Spaten , but anyway its rich ,grainy, and caramelly , but lacks depth or well thought construction .
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 pivnizub (8046) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 22, 2006
Bottle: Golden coloured, slightly hazy, small, almost creamy head; grainy, sweetish, dusty nose with a tinge of resinous hoppiness; sweetish flavour, only traces of bitterness, medium bodied; sweetish - almost fruity finish with some hioppy edges. Not too aromatic, but all in all a chewy, hearty brew.................
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Quack-Duck (6880) - Down South, GERMANY - MAR 22, 2009
bottle, Danke pivnizub! Clear golden yellow, large white head, which is quite persistent. Spicy malty-herbal nose. Medium-bodied, malty with some hoppy herbal accents and a lingering bitter finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 kappldav123 (3857) - Nordhausen, GERMANY - OCT 11, 2010
Bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Nice head. Starts strong, quite spicy from the beginning, also a bit sourish. Finsih a little bit alcoholic-metallically, but still nicely spicy. Not bad!
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (7634) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2010 Bottled. A light orange/gold coloured lager which pours with no head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a bit of typical butteriness. The taste is also on the sweet malty side but there’s a very pleasant balanced hop taste to it which gives it that edge over most Maerzens. Maybe I’m just in a good mood but I really enjoyed this.
This rating is dedicated to Mae Alice Edwards, my beautiful daughter born 27 Feb 2005.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 leaparsons (7129) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2005
Bottled. Golden with a white bubble head. Aromas are sweet grain and Autumn fruit woth caramel, some soap and some sulphur. Flavours are grain and butter with fruit - especially pears. Juicy and addictive. Has some smokiness. Has some "odd" flavours that I found difficult to place - still decent.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (26476) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2010
Bottled. A dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt combined with lighter notes of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading to a lightly bitter finish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JorisPPattyn (7363) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 9, 2007
Darker gold beer, with good, dense, just off-white head. Fresh hops, grains, CO² impression. Slightly buttery taste, lots of malts packed in, with a hint at caramel. Slick, oily feel. Is there diacetyl? Certainly not much, anyway. Better than the export, but I prefer the much hoppier Pilsner.
