COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth and creamy best describes this beer. Black malt creates the intense color while adding a touch of roasted flavor. A large amount of rolled oats enhances the creaminess created by using nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide for the bubbles. Hold a normal stout up to the light and it’s hard to see through. Hold this stout up to the light and the room turns dark!

On draft at the brewpub. Pours a murky cola with a tan head. Aroma of toasted oats. Flavors of licorice and leather. Bitter roast finish.

Draft to taster at brew pub pour opaque dark brown with moderate tan head. Nose roasted malt and dark chocolate. Taste brief green fruit flavor followed by light roast and mineral powdered chocolate. Smooth mouth feel from the oats and nitro.

4 oz pour on draft at District ChopHouse. Black with light tan head. Nice lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, spices, chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, light caramel and vanilla, roasty notes, light malt. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Great oatmeal stout, my favorite of the flight.

On tap at the brewpub. Near black body with a decent head. Medium-full body and light soft carbonation which, with the smoothness from the oats, makes this feel like a cask ale.

Geruch sehr kräftig, schokoladig, lecker. Geschmack bleibt dann weit hinter den Erwartungen, wässrig, nichtssagend.

What I expect to be among their better beers but we’ll see. Light sweet breakfast oat aroma and some roast. Pours black with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sweetness and mostly bitter, consistent with style. Tap at brewpub.

This was certainly one of the best beers available, though only a slightly better than average beer. Roasty and dark. Tried with Jess at the brewery in February.

On tap at the Brew Pub last week on vacation. Deep black with brown highlights in the light, small thick tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, and a bit of oats. Taste is roasted malts, light coffee and not too bitter. Excellent creamy mouthfeel from the nitrogen, and a thick & creamy body that the oatmeal adds, moderate carbonation.
