Sampled at DCH during RBSG 2006. Black with ruby edges and a beige head. Slightly roasty nose, hint of mocha. Light chocolate, coffee a little grass and roastiness. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Boring, needs some life.

An unusual beer. Pours dark brown with a thin khaki head. The nose had a strong vanilla extracty quality to it. The mouthfeel wasn’t as smooth or creamy as I expected but it was malty and flavorful. Finishes clean.

Reviewed from notes.
Pours a fairly dark brown color with a light tan head. Single-finger of foam leaves a tad bit of lacing. The nose is coffee, chocolate, and some roasted malt. The taste is fairly roasty with just a bit of chocolate. Moderate body with good carbonation. Drinks fairly well overall and is a pretty good brew from the local spot.
