Reviewed from notes.
Pours a moderate brown color with a pretty nice tan head and a tad bit of lacing. The nose is pretty strong with some dark fruits, caramel, and quite a bit of German yeast. Taste is yeasty with a bit of darker malts. Caramel and toffee. A bit boozy in the feel with a nice body. Drinks pretty well but needs to amp up the flavor a bit or bring down the alcohol.

On tap at brewpub
Aroma neat think malt sided aroma with hint of fruits. Light on wheat.
Appearance hazed amber-brown with medium top, rings of lace.4-
Flavor and Palate : full bodied. Sweet sided , slight husky walls. Alcohol, very well covered. Smooth and clean brew. More of bock that weizen bock … but I like that gave more body and substance.

Murky brown coloured body with a large dense tan head. Aroma of bread, yeast, coriander seed, curacao, bananas and a ton of cloves. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong as hell with a lot of malt and spices in the mix and a good pleasant sweetness to finish off the beer. Aftertaste shows well with a bit of fruit, but a lot of alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer and again, worth trying if this is available when you are at the brewpub! I sampled this beer on draught at the brewpub.

Tap. Deep-reddish brown / purple color, cloudy. Bright white head. Loads of ripened banana in the nose. A good bit of lemon and a pinch of clove. Flavor is rich malt, thick and chewy. A touch of toasted wheat, mostly banana and caramelized sugars.

GABF 2009: Muddy brown pour with a thick light tan head. Nose was a bit tart and sour and certainly wheaty. The flavors were pretty nicely wheaty as well. Unfortunately, the flavors were coming off a pretty think body. Not bad though.

Had this on tap at the District ChopHouse in Washington D.C. Pours a murky, translucent, orange amber with a thin white head that completely faded within moments. Aroma was bananas, cloves, a little vanilla, some wheat. Flavor was exactly the same, wheaty, malty, bananas, spice, cloves, a little bit of grass and a little light citrus. Finish was crisp and slightly chalky. A nice departure from some of their other ales on the menu.
