3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 haddon90 (1225) - Tustin, USA - APR 9, 2007
Draft. Not too clear golden pour with a frothy head. Sweet nose, with hints of sugar and molasses. Not much wheat, but you can sense the alcohol. Whoa! I believe it’s over 9%. Anyway, very sweet...almost too sweet.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jgb9348 (3494) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 3, 2010
Slightly hazy golden coloured with a very thin white head. Aroma of strong alcohol, light spices, some citrus and a touch of yeast. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive malt and coriander seed with a bunch of alcohol and drying hops. Overall, a good beer - strong, but still showing good complexity throughout. I sampled this beer on draught in June 2010 at the brewpub.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 scraff (2120) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 7, 2010
Draft - Chill hazed golden-yellow, creamy off white head. Soft banana and orange zest nose with undercurrents of spiced bubblegum and pear. Sweet fruity pear flavors round with a touch of peppery wheat and yeast. medium bodied, soft carbonation, fruity finish. Not the greatest attempt....
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 3fourths (6405) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2007
Draft. Yellow and clear with a white head. Very sweet candy sugar nose, smells and tastes like some other Americanized version of an abbey tripel. The wheat character is barely noticed, but it’s in there, smothered by the sweet candy sugar, alcohol and unfermentables. Overly sweet and oily, but at the same time almost fizzy. Certainly sharp. An ok beer, but I don’t think I’ve had any wheat wine that really impressed.
