Bottle. An almost clear, dark brown beer that gushed a little. Diminishing, finger-thick dark beige head. Sweet, candyish aroma with some phenolic notes and a hint of Turkish Pepper candy. Lots of licorice and hints of coffee. Sweet flavor with too much licorice. Slightly phenolic. Medium body, fizzy, yet smooth. Licorice and sweetness in the finish. A strange one, too sweet and with a licorice overkill, still sort of good, but I couldn’t drink a whole lot of it. 100407

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet sweet malt, chocolate notes, spicy, light licorice. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a long duration, tobacco and a acrid bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100311]
