330 ml fliptop / swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Copper coloured, large and lasting offwhite head, nice lacing. Pleasant malty, slightly roasty and caramel aroma, notes of rye bread, some aromatic hops too. Flavour is reasonably malty and slightly roasty, hints of smoke and caramel. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Allegedly this is an authentic 16th century "Braunbier" - at any rate it is well worth sampling!

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear atoma of hops and malt with a subtle fruity note. Bitter, hoppy flavour with a touch of malty sweetness. Dry aftertaste. Drinkable, but not the best dunkel I’ve ever had.

27.01.2013. 0,33l Swing Top Bottle. Flensburg. Dark brown colour with off-white head. Aroma of dark malt with caramel and sugar sweetness. Moderate mild bitterness, gives a very soft smoth beer. No flavours of green peas ClubGonzo :-D.

Bottle. Deep clear mahogany body, huge creamy white head. Impressive. Aroma is green pea mash, caramel, hints of...no, I can’t get those green peas out of my head. WTF?? Taste is green peas again, with some nougat-ish caramel tones and massive metallic tones. Bad bottle? Not very good, this one.

(Bottle). Vaguely metallic scent of roasted malt, slightly burnt coffee, some smoke and grassy hops. The taste is quite thin and watery but also sweet with elements of roasted malt, syrup and grassy hops. In the aftertaste there is bitter nuance of burnt coffee and hops. Not a particularly good beer!

Swing-top by 16.01.13. Nose of heavy roast and some straw and cellar, a little skanky, but still has appeal. Dark mahogany body with a rocky beige head. Taste is very sweet with some chocolate and resin, caramel and toffee, earth, light bitterness that grows a bit. Lightly nutty with a hint of fruit. Watery/light body with a dryish, toasted end.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown with a big but fast-settling white head. A little cocoa and some dried dark fruit on the nose. plus a very faint hint of coffee. Toast and roast malt in the body, a burnt bitterness blending into a grassy slightly floral hoppiness. Long burnt caramel and dry hops finish.

Bottle in the hotel in Berlin. Pours clear brown with a foamy, off-white head. Grapes and other dark fruits in the nose. Bit of plastic fruits in the flavor, light sweetness, some bready toast. Pretty bland. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Bland to finish with faint toast and plastic bread. Has a strange, chewy rubber character. Not terribly enjoyable.

Pours dark reddish brown with medium head that fades rather quickly. Taste of dark chocolate with barely any hop bite.
